HADITH AND AYAT FROM THE HOLY QURAN

Page 3: Animals in Islam

Hadith-On the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah said: “Allah

the Almighty is good and accepts only that which is good. Allah has commanded the Faithful to do that which He

commanded the Messengers, and the Almighty has said: “O ye Messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right..”

(Quran 23:51). And Allah the Almighty has said: “O ye who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have

provided you..” (2:172). Then he mentioned [the case of] a man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty

and who spreads out his hands to the sky [saying]: O Lord! O Lord!-while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, so how can he be answered!” (Muslim).

USES OF ANIMALS IN ISLAM

Page 7: Animals in Islam

Transportation

One of the main uses for animals would be as transportation especially in the past because then people didn't’t have cars and other vehicles to transport so they

had to rely on animals.

Page 8: Animals in Islam

Food

Another main use of animals for humans is to use them for food. People can eat all animals except for a few I will be explaining later. People don’t usually eat animals raw,

they usually cook them first and there are specific ways of killing them before cooking them.

Companionship

Animals are also commonly used for companionship and serve as good friends for people. The main animals that

are used as companions are domestic pets and dogs have even gained the title of mans best friend.

Page 10: Animals in Islam

Clothes

Animals are also used as a source of material to get clothing. For example people shave sheep to get their

wool to use as a fabric for making warm clothes.

Page 11: Animals in Islam

Communication

Another purpose that animals serve for people is that they are used for communication. The main way this is done is by people using things like carrier pigeons and

tying a message to their foot. Then training the pigeon to deliver the message.

Animal Testing

Animal Testing basically means when products (such

as makeup, hair products etc.) were experimented with and tested on animals to make

sure it wouldn’t be harmful to humans. This means that the animal probably went through

quite a lot of pain when the product was tested on it and

their were also probably some side effects because the product was never tested

before.

Puppy Mills

A puppy mill is a place that’s main purpose is for dog

breeding and and so dogs are usually the targets of very ill

treatment and live in very bad conditions.

When animals are killed so that their body can be sold

When animals are killed so their body parts are used

basically means that when animals and murdered so that people can use (their tusks, heads, hands and coats) for

their own personal use.

LINK TO THE AOI AND LEARNER PROFILE

Page 30: Animals in Islam

AIO: EnvironmentsThis project links to the AOI

environments because animals are a main part of the

environment and the environment is their home.

The official dictionary definition of the word environment is “the

surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates”. So

just by reading this definition you can see that

environments directly links into the lives of animals. So

animal links in to the AOI environment because animals live in the environment and are part of the environment.

Learner Profile: Principled

I chose to link this PowerPoint presentation to the learner profile principled because people must be principled

when they choose how they want to use and treat the animal. They must be sure they treat them fairly and right because if they don’t

then that will be considered a sign of animal cruelty.
