Animal PhotoNow that you have chosen your animal to research, the next thing you want to do is search for a picture that you can print to include with your written report. Some possible sites to use to find animal information and pictures are on page six.

Content Information

• Research information about your animal. Find out what class of animals it belongs to.

• Discover what habitat it lives in and describe it.

• Learn about the diet that your animal survives on. Give examples of what it may eat.

• How does your animal move? What body parts does your animal use to help it move. Tell us if your animal moves fast or slow.

• What type of animal covering does your animal have? How does that covering help your animal?

Interesting Facts• Here is an opportunity to“WOW”your classmates with some facts that you think are interesting about your animal.

• Tell us something that your friends may not know about your animal.

• Share a fact about your animal that may be rare, or uncommon.

• Did you discover something really cool that your animal can do?

• Is there anything else amazing about your animal?

Grammar and Neatness

Your report must include some other important features too.

• Let’s start at the top and make sure that your report has a title. A proper title would be the name of your animal.

• All year we have worked on writing complete sentences. This is your chance to show how well you write complete sentences.

• Double-check your sentences to make sure you have correct spacing between your words.

• Triple-check for backward letters if you occasionally have trouble in this area.

• Last, write this report slowly and carefully so that your report will look neat from top to bottom.

• Please do not type this report .

Reminders• You are free to use any type of a source to get your

information. It does not have to be an internet source. • You are not allowed to copy sentences directly from any of

these sources. That is never allowed when writing research papers.

• There is no need to memorize your report but I do want you to practice reading this several times at home. Make sure you know all about what you have written because your classmates and I will be asking you questions about what you have written.
