    Evaluation Plan1. Week 2 Premise/Inspirational Sketch/Presentation. 10%

    4. Week 8-14 TEAM Story Reel 20%

    5. Week 13 TEST: Story Analysis 10%

    This divides the individual and group marks 50-50.

    Assignments: Assignments will be presented during the lecture class.

    1. Premise INDIVIDUAL MARK DUE WEEK 2

    The student will produce a premise, inspirational sketch and presentation of their idea for the

    TEAM project.

    2. TEAM Project Story GROUP MARK

    Script.

    Inspirational Sketches.

    Thumbnail Board.Clean Board.

    Presentation.

    3. The Storyboard Test (TSBT) INDIVIDUAL MARKThis assignment will simulate a storyboard test from a production company.

    The student will be provided with a sample script, model sheets, environments, props, and

    storyboard template. A scratch track may be provided TBA.

    From this, the student will be required to produce: a thumbnail, rough, clean board, and timed

    story reel.

    The student will also be required to identify and research the audience and the broadcaster likely

    to air the show. And provide comparative examples of similar shows in style and content.

    The student will be expected to deconstructed a film project with respect to its story aspects:

    line of action, spine, protagonists, plot, characters, theme, etc.

    Topical Outline

    *In this semester, all labs precede lectures.

    *Lab assignments will be discussed/presented in the labs on the day they are due.

    *There is too much work in the TEAM project for one person. All elements must be delegatedwithin the group.

    Week 1

    Lab: Introduction, Rules of the Road, Fundamentals vs. Practice,

    Generating Ideas, Story Sources.

    Lecture: INTRODUCTION TO 3rd YEAR PROJECT.

    Week 2

    Lab: Premise/Sketch/Present DUE

    Lecture: TEAM SELECTION

    Week 3

    Lab: Refine premise in teams, Beat outline, inspirational Sketches

    Lecture: Collaboration: Writers rooms, Story Bullpens.

    Week 4

    Lab: Synthesize TEAM thumbnails.

    Lecture: Structure: Line of action or spine, Script Formatting, Presentation Notes

    Week 5Lab: Outline script, TEAM Thumbnail boards DUE.

    Lecture: GUEST: WRITER TBA
