While Karoly's price was not the lowest bid overall, his firm was the most responsive and he provided material upgrades and discounts the other bidders did not include. We requested a front door his firm did not stock. Karoly went out of his way to get the door we wanted and an acceptable price. We liked his attitude, work ethic and responsiveness, but most of all, we liked the fact he installed the product himself! All through the various job steps he kept us informed. The job was scheduled around our needs, not that of the contractor. Due to the quality of the work, we have asked him for a bid to replace all the windows in the house. I suspect he will underbid the big window firms in Orlando doing all the advertisement and the final product will be as good as the initial door installment. With our measurements, he provided a rough estimate over the phone and then came to measure and confirm within several days of our call back, despite being located 2 hours from our home, The windows were ordered and delivered in the time frame promised and the installation went smoothly in less than a day. They cleaned up beautifully and gave us a through demonstration of the mechanics of the windows. No problem passing inspection. There was a small area of caulk detail needing attention we noticed post inspection and Karoly returned promptly without question to remedy that and double checked all the windows to be sure nothing was overlooked. Only negative things I could say is that the door I wanted was quoted on their website as certain price but when he came out he said the website has not been updated with new pricing and it was a couple hundred more. I feel he should have gave me the price listed on website and to this day his website still shows the old pricing. Also, I wish his crew would have cleaned up a bit better. I found about 10 metal plates, a handful of shims and a sweaty t-shirt. Both things were little annoying but not a complete deal breaker for me. For me, those qualities outweigh the couple of minor annoyances. I am considering replacing another exterior door and will definitely use Karoly again if I do. They showed up on Monday at about 10:30 am and worked throughout the day until 8pm. My concern was hiring a small company, but I found out the warranty is with Simonton windows which made me feel better. I received great windows and great service. I would never think of letting anyone else enter my home and begin a project of this magnitude except Karoly, Steven and Norbert because they are technically proficient, detail oriented, and superior in their knowledge of installations. From the moment they arrive until they time they leave, they work diligently and cautiously to do a superior job. What is also amazing is how clean the home was when they were done. It was as if the cleaning service just finished cleaning! I have custom drapes from Calico Corners hanging in front of every window they replaced (5), and Hunter Douglas vertiglides in front of those, so you can imagine my concern before they began their magic.
