Angelina CatalfamoEDF 2085March 28, 2012

Orlando (died) and Olga(no photo) Hoyos married and had Belkis (seen below on left) Catalfamo in 1962

Tony(died) and Maxine (seen below left) married in 1960 and had Joe (seen below) in 1963 whom Belkis later married in 1985

Belkis and Joseph then had (me) Angelina Catalfamo in 1990 (seen below)

In 1998 my brother Dominic Antonio Catalfamo was born (seen below)

Orlando Hoyos born: 1945-2010Born in Havana, Cuba he flew to Spain where he took his wife Olga Hoyos and from there they came to Miami, FL. They came to the U.S to seek freedom and a better opportunity of living. The struggles they faced were learning English, something Orlando never accomplished, however, was a successful business man. Belkis Catalfamo born in Havana Cuba in 1962, then flew to Spain with her parents, to come to America at age 3. Her biggest struggle as a child was surviving poverty with parents that could not speak English and putting herself through school.

Tony Catalfamo 1935-1994 was born in Miami, Fl and met his wife Maxine Catalfamo they struggled with having 8 children (Tony had 8 with a previous wife) and feeding all of them.

Joe Catalfamo was born in 1963 in Miami,FL his biggest struggle growing up was being a White Italian in a Spanish speaking city and trying to find a job.

Family is #1Our values are family is #1 however, God always comes

first. The norms for us are going to school (even the parents) working full time jobs, and being home to eat as a family by 6p.m & church on Sunday’s.

TRADITION for the Cuban side of the family is ‘lechon’ on Noche Bueno (the 24th of dec) we have a big party and fiesta with our family and loved ones and tradition is ALWAYS a lechon.

Biggest Tradition of all?

Celebrating the sweet 15 or Quinceanera for Cubans & sweet 16 for the Italians! These days are full of family and fun! They realize a significant time in your life and how precocious being young is! Lucky for me I had a sweet 15 AND 16

Birthday cruise!
