Foreword

In the cultivation of a budding musician, positive performing experiences un-der an encouraging and supportive atmosphere is essential. These experiences help nurture the young musician’s passion, provide a sense of accomplish-ment and builds confidence. In light of this, our brave young performers today will present their best mu-sical efforts in a live performance - an indispensable first step towards an ar-tistic journey, a process that is constantly unfolding and evolving. We also hope that performances by guest concert artists and works by an amateur photographer will not only entertain our audience and inspire our Young Performers through their artistic media, but to enforce a strong artis-tic lineage spanning many generations. Thank you for attending, and let us enjoy our day together! Angela Chan

My name is Emilia Heather Monaco and I am 6 years old. I am in Grade 1 at Windermere Elementary School in Bea-consfield. My hobbies and interests include furry animals, music, hip-hop dancing and drawing. I have been studying with Angela for since October, 2003.

My name is Jacqueline To and I just recently came to Montreal. I used to live in Vancouver. I am 12 years old and I go to St. Thomas High School. I’ve played the pi-ano for around 4 years. In Vancouver I sang in the choir for 2 years, played the recorder for 2 years and played the handchimes for 3 years in the Handchimes Ensem-ble. I now play the clarinet for music in school. My hob-bies are reading and playing on the computer.

I am Emily To. I am 9 years old and new to Montreal. I used to live in Vancouver. I’m in Grade 4 and my school is “Seigniory Elementary”. I just started recorder this year. I did Handchimes at my old school “Lakeview” for 1 year. I did singing in Vancouver at the Burnaby District Children’s Choir. I’ve been doing piano for 4 years. My hobbies are computer, drawing, watching tv, making origami and read-ing.

Hello! My name is Philippe Saikali and I was born in Lebanon and lived there until 2001. I have been studying biology in Montreal since then. Working with Angela for the past 2 years has been an amazing experience because I am fulfilling my long time passion to play the piano.

Olivia Pisano began piano lessons 4 years ago, and has been studying with Angela for 9 months. She sang back-up on the Kidzup CD’s and is interested in pursuing voice training in the future. My name is Larry Tam, I'm 15 and my brother is Steven and he's 12. We have been learning piano since August 2001. I'm in sec.4(grade 10) in Ecole Cavelier-de-LaSalle. My brother is in sec.1(grade 7) in College St-Louis. In our spare time, we like to play video games, work on the computer and of course, play piano.

Creative, humorous and socializing are Clayton Ma’s la-bels. Music is often his way to express his feeling and emo-tion, however primitive it is. Of all subjects, music is where he consistently achieved the highest mark. To demonstrate his energetic side, he won silver prizes in the Eastern Can-ada's Tai Kwon Do competition in the past two years. He is currently a blue belt player. His preferred game is Yu-gi-oh cards.

Sihan Guo is a happy girl who laughs out loud in her dreams. She is also highly curious, posing questions on everything from her brilliant mind. She likes beau-tiful piano music and Evgeny Kissin is her favorite pianist. She enjoys drawing, coloring, eating candies, telling stories, watching “Lion King” which she has viewed multiple times. Sihan is 6 years old and has studied with Angela since August 2002

Hello! My name is Cynthia Wong and I am 14 years old. I am a student at St. Thomas High School, and I am in secondary 3 (grade 9). I have been studying with An-gela for 6 years now. Besides playing the piano, I enjoy playing sports as in swimming, squash, kung-fu, etc. So I guess you can say that I’m an active person! What I enjoy the most, besides playing the piano, is Hip Hop! I also enjoy cooking.

Hi, my name is Kathleen Wong. I am 9 years old. I have been learning to play the piano for 3 years. I also take lessons in swim-ming, hip-hop, kung-fu, and Chinese. I like to play the piano be-cause it is interesting and fun. When I grow up, I would like to be a teacher or a pilot.
