Topical Anesthesia
• Commonly available cream is a mixture of 2.5% lidocaine and 2.5% prilocaine in 1:1 ratio
• The duration of action is usually 1-2 h. • Amount:- 1-2 g cream is applied over 10 cm2 .• Maximum 2000 cm2 in an adult and 100 cm2 in a
child < 10 kg.
