(division B) and high schools (division C). Ø Teams from each school (up to 15 students) compete in 23 different events

throughout the day. Ø Approximately 10 teams compete in each division; about 300 students

total. Ø All the events are science themed and the rules are established by the

national Science Olympiad organization. ü Additional duties include:

o Coordinating approximately 15 faculty members to help with writing/designing tests for various events.

Strategies Modeling and Reading Together Through Integrating Science (SMARTTIS).

SMARTTIS is a collaborative project between Adrian College (AC) and Adrian Public School System (APS). The curriculum is Seeds of Science and Roots of Reading (SSRR). This research is in collaboration with my colleague Dr. Vanessa Morrison. Our research proposal has been approved through the Adrian College Internal Review Board. The Adrian College Faculty Research Committee awarded us a grant of $1,999.76 to support this research.
