Program The West Coast Chamber Players

Jim Stubbs (Trumpet): Jim began his career with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and was Principal Trumpet with groups that include: the American Ballet Theatre, the Brooklyn Philharmonic and the Opera Orchestra of New York. He has performed locally with the Civic Orchestra of Victoria, the Victoria Symphony and the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lauren Stubbs (Bassoon): Lauren began performing in New York City as Principal Bassoonist with the Opera Orchestra of New York, the New Jersey Symphony and American Ballet Theatre. She has also performed with the National Ballet of Canada, the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic.

Nancy Washeim (Soprano): Nancy’s international career has featured solo performances with numerous musical organizations, including the London Bach Festival, as well as broadcast appearances on Radio Canada. She has upcoming performances with the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus and the Vancouver Handel Society.

Andrew Washeim (Treble): Andrew is eleven years old and enjoys reading the Percy Jackson series, wood lathing and building models. He has performed with the Salt Spring Chamber Orchestra and Chorus and the Sooke Youth Orchestra.

The Sooke Harbour String Quartet

Anne McDougall (Violin): Anne is the Concertmaster of the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and an active chamber music musician. She has performed with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Alberta Baroque Ensemble.

Sue Martin (Violin): Sue leads the second violins in the Sooke Philharmonic and Victoria Chamber Orchestras. In her spare time she edits academic books about German literature and culture.

Lee Anderson (Viola): Lee discovered the joys of the viola as a teen. He has studied with Harry Gomez and the eminent Czech violist, Jaroslav Karlovsky. Lee is a member of the Victoria Chamber Orchestra and the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra.

Trevor MacHattie (Cello): Trevor studied cello with Zdenek Konicek of the Czech String Quartet and Robert Dodson of the Vaghy String Quartet. He has played with the North York Symphony, the Kingston Symphony and Ottawa Chamber Orchestra, and currently plays with the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and the Victoria Chamber Orchestra.
