ACTIVITIESExodus Adventures (Exodus) uses a wide range of activities to cater for student engagement. Our objectives are to foster each student’s development as a unique individual by providing them with:• the opportunity to develop awareness,

appreciation and understanding of the importance of environmental management, particularly how we can manage our behaviour and ecosystems in order to live sustainably

• the opportunity to achieve personal and group challenges, which are physical, mental and emotional, and which promote responsibility and respect for self and others

• the opportunity to live within a community that upholds values concerning themselves, others and the environment

OUTDOOR EDUCATIONThe combination of nature, small group and outdoor adventure activities are found to provide powerful experiences of learning and change in both educational and therapeutic contexts. Research supports that through participating in physical activities that exercise spatial awareness, visual tracking and coordination, the development of many academic skills such as numeracy, reading and writing are enhanced.

A successful school camp has the power to transform your students in a very short space of time. Exodus programs take the students out of the classroom environment and offers education based on the principles of experiential learning. Students are provided with the opportunities to live in shared accommodation, develop social skills, independence, challenge themselves and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. Our camp programs give students the opportunity to participate in a range of activities tailored to take students out of their comfort zone and challenge them physically and emotionally in a positive learning environment. We also recognise that teacher involvement is at the heart of every successful camp. Our qualified staff will work closely with you to support what you’re doing with the curriculum. On arrival to camp you can expect a warm welcome and plenty of encouragement to get as much from the camp experience as your students. We also include a special teacher package to make your time at camp as comfortable as possible.

WHO ARE WE? Exodus Adventures is a privately owned commercial company that is operated by Glen (Dingo) and Renae (Fox) Camps. Exodus has been operating programs for the past 9 years. Dingo and Fox have over 45 years of combined experience in working in Outdoor Recreation; Dingo has over 15 years of Australian Defence Force experience. They bring a wealth of experience, skills and qualifications to Exodus; and have a passion to give young people the opportunity to experience the outdoors, and to challenge themselves.

Exodus currently caters for groups of up to 250 participants. Exodus takes pride in being able to customise their programs to suit the specific requirements of their clients, offering from ½ day to multiple day trips; and from a base camp or as an expedition style camp.

Exodus can also offer a hassle-free complete package, including a door-to-door service. Exodus can arrange to come to your school, collect your staff and students, take them to the chosen event site, run the camp, and then return them to your school at the end of the program.

Exodus is very excited to be able to announce a new initiative for 2017: Wilderness Adventure Therapy Program. This program is designed to help those individuals who are struggling to fit in, are making some negative life decisions and need to re-focus. The camp will run for 2 weeks and will expose the individual to skills that they can apply to their lives to help them focus, and give them ways to be part of their communities.

Exodus utilises a number of different and varying venues to run their programs. We have run programs from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast, and have also gone to school sites and conducted activities. Exodus ‘Home Base’ for many years has been a beautiful 2500 acre property in Buccarumbi in Northern NSW. This spectacular property offers 6kms of magnificent whitewater river frontage on the Nymboida River backing onto State and National Forests. The property is west of the rugged Buccarumbi Ranges and south-west of Grafton, where the Nymboida and Boyd Rivers join forces. This property offers the closest whitewater river access to Brisbane via 2-wheel drive.

During your stay you will experience the serenity of the wilderness, the steep untamed bushlands and the gentle slopping openness of cattle grazing country. This magical property will draw you into natures haven for wildlife of wedge tailed eagles, sea eagles, one of the regions largest platypus communities, and includes many endangered species. The Nymboida River is also renowned for being the perfect fishing spot to catch bass, herring, and catfish.
