Another jam packed schedule of events and programs is on offer for library members, residents and visitors during October and November. The library encourages participation for all and is the perfect platform for social engagement, learning about new things or interacting with the physical and digital worlds. Best of all many of the events and programs are free or have a small fee attached.

City of Joondalup Libraries events are always popular and many book out quickly with a waitlist. When booking into an event, please ensure that you, or those whom you are booking for, are able to honour attendance at the event and make sure to include it in your diary. The City understands that emergencies occur. If unable to attend, notification up to 24 hours prior to the event is appreciated so that those on the waitlist can be contacted to take up the spare place. Thank you.

Most events are held inside the City of Joondalup Libraries, however there are times when activities or events are held in a larger venue, especially the very popular Meet the Author events.

Bookings for all library events are via the City’s event calendar on the website unless otherwise stated, or enquire through 9400 4751.

Members of the City of Joondalup Libraries can have their overdue library fines cleared in exchange for non-perishable boxed, bottled or canned food items. All donations will be shared between local Community groups to assist families and clients in need, leading up to Christmas.

Library members may have $1.00 in current fines cleared for each donated food item, however it isn’t necessary for library members to have fines to be able to donate.

Visit your local City of Joondalup Library to build your own Grand Design from a selection of construction materials. Bookings are not required for this activity however parent supervision is required at this open DIY creative space.

Note: Bookings for the Spring School Holiday activities opened on Monday 11 September 2017. Check the City’s Event Calendar to see if spaces are still available.

Stay Smart Online – Simple Steps to Online SafetyMonday 2 October to Saturday 7 October City of Joondalup Libraries

Each year, through Stay Smart Online Week, the Australian Government works in collaboration with other agencies, industry, small business operators and community groups to raise awareness about the ways people can protect themselves online.

The national awareness week is typically held in October each year and focuses on a key theme that highlights an important safety message. This year the theme ‘Simple steps to online safety’ reinforces the message that all members of the public can take some simple actions to protect themselves online and to recover in the event a cyber incident occurs.

Light I Art I Music I Food

Transforming the City of Joondalup into an extraordinary wonderland of light and illumination, Kaleidoscope will feature some of the world’s most dynamic creatives and give them the opportunity to realise their most exciting ideas.

Car Park and Entrance UpgradeCity of Joondalup Libraries – Whitford

Whitford Library and other City services in the precinct including City Booking Office, Customer Service Centre and Seniors’ Centre will be closed from Friday 17 November to Tuesday 21 November (weather permitting), to complete major upgrade works to the car park and front entrance areas.
