Introduction

The knowledge of the development level of the settlements is important:

- fair distribution of central financial resources

- judgment of applications

- establishment of plans on development of territories and settlements

Examinations

- government programme to close up the underdeveloped areas

- re-examination of the used indexes complex index

The goal of the examination

to create a GIS database, that can be used in any small region

research period: 1999, 2003 (base year – 1997)

Examined data:

- attribute data base data of the indexes - geometric data position of the objects maps

17 indexes (considering Parlamentary decision)

Database - can be used in any small regions - determining the development of the settlements - comparison of the settlements
