•After receiving audience feedback for our ancillary tasks, we realised that there were some factors that we had to change, in order for our products to meet the needs of the target audience. The CD cover required a smaller amount of modifications in comparison to the advertisement, which we needed to change all together. The reason why we changed our products is so that they would appeal more to the public, stand out from other pop products, to enhance the continuity with the music video, and genre, and improve the overall quality. Audience feedback was an important factor for us in our coursework as it helped identify the strengths and weaknesses of our product, which we were unable to view, and allows other individuals to express their opinions and ideas. Once the changes have been applied, if our age range like the products they are more likely to be noticed, spreading the awareness and reputation of the artist.

CD Cover•Our CD cover has changed slightly from its previous form.

Firstly, we altered the album name. The reason for this was that the original title we considered was too long, therefore it was difficult to position the text appropriately on both ancillary products. Hence, we changed it to ‘Heart & Soul’, which we believed was suitable in relation to the genre, and was short and catchy for the audience to remember. Additionally, we improved the colour of the text to green so that it links in with the natural scenery of the background (grass and branches), whilst still being easy to read and standing out from the image. The final factor we changed was removing the song title on the back side of the CD, due to the fact that it was too repetitive as the same text was on the front of the cover, and it took up a large amount of space making the side look full, covering the original image. These few changes have improved the accuracy and quality of our product, and made it look more realistic.

Magazine Advertisement• Our Magazine Ad had to be modified dramatically due to the range of opinions and ideas we had

received from the audience feedback. The first main change was to use a completely new image, which made our product landscape rather than portrait. This means that it does not follow the typical stereotype of an advertisement, therefore making it look more like a billboard. The reason for this is because of we did not want just the artist to be featured in the image, similar to our first draft, and our target audience suggested that we should include more of the setting the individual is situated in, which increases the continuity between the CD cover and music video. Additionally, we faced difficulty with the positioning of the text, hence we removed the writing that was not necessary so the advert only consisted of the title, the record label, text saying the album is out soon and the artists website in the top corner. The hashtag and website address was a new feature that we added, in order to make our product modern and appealing to our audience. As technology is becoming more advanced, we believe that by inserting these two elements, individuals are able to follow our product and stay in touch with the latest news regarding the artist via the internet, and social media sited such as Facebook and YouTube. Furthermore, we added a gradient effect to the image, whereby the left side is brighter which then gradually fades into a more neutral look, and placed a white shadow behind the text. This makes it more noticeable and stands out from the image, enabling viewers to read the text easily without any difficulties.
