Analysis of A2 Blogs
Firstly, I looked at Claire, Hannah, Cindy and Steph’s blog who did a similar task as mine which is creating a
teaser trailer.
What I noticed first was that on the sidebar, they two sections called
contributors and a blog archive. This blog has four different contributors
so it makes sense to have links to their individual blogs but as my own,
I am the only contributor so this wouldn’t be necessary for me. Also, the blog archive is useful as we can
see what work was done at what time however, I noticed that there were no labels that clearly stated what type of work it was, for example, research or
planning. Therefore, it is harder to navigate through the blog and we cannot see specific work related to
the label.
Also, while showing their final poster, they went into explained about specific details such as the
tear although, it wasn’t as detailed, we could still gain somewhat of an
idea on what they were aiming to do.
In addition, they showed 4 different ideas of how they
wanted their poster to look like. This is useful as we can
understand that instead of using the first idea they came up with,
they tried to look at different ways to portray their image and the best way their poster would
be effective.
However, a negative is that they haven’t used various types of presenting software and have resorted to having texts as posts. Although, they have used some software
like slideshare and their own video. This is useful as one of the criteria is to show evidence of use of technology so
I can see that in order to gain higher marks, I need to make use of different websites to show my information.
I’ve also noticed that they haven’t embedded their Prezi
onto the blog which could show less use of technology and
instead they’ve used screen captures of the different steps in
the Prezi and given a short description.
Secondly, I looked at Emily and Tolga’s blog who had a similar main task as mine as well as the previous
blog I analysed.
Development of Magazine
This was the first post that spoke out to me. This post outlined the process of how they created each aspect of the cover. This is useful as they went into
detail and explained each part rather than just showing the magazine. Apart from this post, there are various other posts that show the process of creating
the cover.
Development of Poster
Going along the same lines as the previous slide, they have gone into incredible detail about how they created each aspect of the poster. This is
useful as it shows me that I need to go into similar detail and show each part of the process so that it becomes clear to the reader about each stage.
Although, a negative I found was that like the first blog, Emily and Tolga didn’t make use of a lot technology as they have text heavy posts. This shows that, once again, in order to gain high marks, I need to use different presenting
software in my posts and try to find new ways of presenting rather than using the same websites like Prezi.
What have I learnt?
I found that going into detail is key because instead of just stating things, analysing and showing detail will mean that the reader can get a clearer idea of the process of reaching my final tasks.
Making use of technology will be beneficial as it won’t be too text heavy and by using different presenting software, it will be more interesting to view.
