Opening Address by H.E. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark,

United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen December 7, 2009

TBLI CONFERENCE™ ASIA 2010 : Green Real Estate

“ The Involvement of civil society is of paramount importance.

Just like negotiators cannot do this alone, nor can politicians.

The ultimate responsibility rests with the citizens of the world, who will ultimately bear the fatal consequences,

if we fail to act.

The climate agenda has created global communities across

all barriers. We need this global momentum. And we need to build on it. Let us not focus on what divides

us, but let us keep focused on what brings us together. ”

The “Cost” Phobia

“Perceived costs” of green buildings are generally overestimated.

A survey by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development finds that

green costs are overestimated by 300 %, as key players in real estate and

construction estimate have the additional cost only at 17 % above conventional construction.

There is a wide range of what we can do without adding price.

Stop viewing sustainability as an added burden with added cost !?

.

Long-sightedness visionShift from “Profit driven” to “Value driven”

It’s not the “correct” Tip of the day !!

ECO-CRIME ?( just 0.01kWh/day )

Turning the thermostat down is..

the most effective energy savingEvery degree you turn it down,

will reduce your cooling costs by 10%

Yes, it is a talk of the town and everyone knows it, but..

is it green enough to save the world ?

Green project is not only additional grassy fields or homes with symbolic wind turbines.

But in fact, it’s just the another home

Please…Give the right & effective Information !!!What we need ?

GoodBye… “Greenwashing”

Incentive of BOI, ESCO Fund, Revolving Fund and Adder Cost.

3. Government provides infrastructure for the RE expansion.

4. Revise of the obstructive legislation.

5. Fully allocate the budget for R&D, Demonstration, Dissemination

and PR of RE

6. Accessibility of RE data, e.g. Potential and Raw material

management

Let’s Shift toSustainable Development

1. Education and public awareness of the green property are also essential to drive for a new market

2. Find ways to Raise customers demand for their sustainable houses

3. Apart from environmental Protection, Addressing Social well-being &

economic factors.

4. All have a role to play to ensure that the project activities have minimal impacts to the environment.
