The Siemens PLM training programme is already running integrated with the regular curriculum. Highly qualified and skilled trainers from SIEMENS deliver the lectures and practical sessions to the students. The Seminar was arranged and coordinated by energetic students of 3rd Year ME under

the guidance of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department Mr. Dinesh Jain. The semi-

nar was very much interactive and beneficial for the students .The students showed keen

interest in the importance of the training and knowing about the other details of the train-

ing from the speakers. The seminar was ended with question answer session in which dif-

ferent types of queries of the students regarding the future prospective of the training

were answered by the speakers.

The guest speakers thanked the teachers and students of SGI, and appreciated their ef-

forts for organizing such seminar.

Seminar on “Latest Technologies & Issues in Ethical Hacking”

Extending its commitment of strong corporate relations,

SGI had organized a seminar on “Latest Technologies &

Issues in Ethical Hacking” by Allsoft Solutions which is

subsidiary of AllSoft Inc. (USA) in India and business part-

ner of IBM at SGI on 2nd May, 2012. The seminar was de-

livered by Mr.Rohit Nanda, Manager Allsoft Solutions, Ms.

Shifali, IBM certified Professional Trainer at Allsoft Solu-

tions and Mr. Dhanpreet Singh, Manager of Training & De-

velopment, from Allsoft Solutions, and he is a Certified

Hacker and Certified Professional of Microsoft and IBM.

The seminar was conducted specially for B.Tech & M.Tech Students. A practical knowl-

edge was given on “Latest Technologies in Ethical Hacking.” They also told the importance

and benefits of learning Ethical Hacking. Ms. Shifali, further addressed the students on

different IBM tools and Software like RAD, DB2. She also gave the brief exposure of corpo-

rate sector. Session was very interesting as they explained the topics by giving live exam-

ples. Mr. Lakshit of 2nd year ECE has got surprise gift for giving answer to a typical query

during the question answer session in the end of the seminar.

This seminar was organized by enthusiastic students of CSE, First Year, ECE, Third Year

and CSE, Second Year under the guidance of Ms. Preetika Bhasin, Research Associate &

Head of Software Solution Center(SSC).

Software Solution Center(SSC) is a new center in SGI to conduct Research & Development

in computer software field and inculcate the knowledge and interest in software develop-

ment & engineering in the students of SGI.

The seminar was attended by many senior faculty members of SGI Prof. H.L Chhatwal, Dr.

Praveen Bhatt, Prof. V.K Batra and Mr. Manoj Kumar, along with students and many other

faculty members of SGI.

The Students of Samalkha Group of Institutions participated

in the well known show “Money Mantra” recorded on NDTV

on 3rd May 2012 at Archana Complex, GK Part-1, New Delhi.

The theme of the show was “German-Made Luxury Car War

In India”. The show was hosted by Mr. Mehraj Dube.

Team of 16 Students of SGI along with Ms. Anupam Mann &

Ms. Nishu Singh Faculty in Engineering in SGI, have partici-

pated in the discussion and were actively involved in the

discussion with the experts and dignitaries.

SGI provides such a platform to the students where they get

exposure and see the things happening in the corporate world. SGI provides knowledge and

understanding of culture, language, geography and global perspectives to its students. SGI Stu-

dents are trained to access and evaluate corporate information resources. SGI curriculum en-

ables students to understand the world by attending various National award shows, Debates

on National & International issues and Discussion Forums where they get experience & expo-

sure. We as representative of the education sector discussed about our role of imparting qual-

ity education in technology, learning and training young talent with corporate support. SGI al-

ways takes initiative to participate in various academic and cultural programs.

Pyush Sharma, Sonu Chokkar, Chirag, Vinay, Manjeet, Mrignk, Nadeem Abbas, Amit, Ritesh

Anupam Mann, Faculty in Engineering in SGI.

Samalkha Group of Institutions organized Blood Dona-

tion Camp on the occasion of World Red Cross Day on

8th May 2012 in association with District Red Cross

Society.

World Red Cross Day is celebrated on 8th May every

year to mark the birthday of Founder of Red Cross -

Mr. Jean Henri Dunant (May 8, 1828 – October 30,

1910), also known as Henry Dunant, he was a Swiss

businessman and social activist. During a business

trip in 1859, he was the witness to the aftermath of

the Battle of Solferino in modern day Italy. He re-

corded his memories and experiences in the book A

Memory of Solferino which inspired the creation of the

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 1863. The 1864 Geneva Convention was

based on Dunant's ideas. In 1901 he received the first Nobel Peace Prize together with

Frederic. On this Occasion a Team of Members including Doctors, Nursing and Laboratory

staff Ms. Mamta Sharma, Mr. Jaipal, Mr. Mahipal, Mr. Praveen, Mr. Sushil Kumar, Mr.

Surinder along with Kadam singh and Roop Singh headed by Dr. Pooja were present to carry

out the blood collection and to examine the health of the donors, on behalf of District Red

Cross Society.

The Students of Samalkha Group of Institutions contributed to this blood donation camp with

great enthusiasm along with several teachers and other staff members. More than 200 unit

of blood is collected during the camp. Senior members of SGI management along with Dr. Ra-

jesh Goel (Director), Prof. H.L Chhatwal (Dean & Associate Director), Prof. S.K Matta, Dr.

Praveen Bhatt, Prof, V.K Batra, Prof. B.S Patel, Mr. Vijayendera Kumar, Mr. Vikas Utreja, Mr.

Kapil Chopra, Mr. Manoj Kumar, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Mr. Neeraj Bawa, Mr. Sushil and other

staff members were actively involved in organizing , motivating the students and successfully

completion of the camp. Various local citizens of nearby villages had also given their contribu-

tion in the camp.

Dr. Pooja told that blood donation is a Nobel service and the blood donors are the real heros.

She had appreciated the initiative taken by SGI management and spirit of the students and

staff members of SGI for the Nobel cause.

“National Technology Day” on 11th May,

2012. It was on this day in 1998 that India

did five Nuclear Explosions and become a

Nuclear Power under leadership of Sh. Atal

Bihari Vajpaee, then Prime Minister. 11th

May is now celebrated as National Technol-

ogy Day to recognize and complement the

efforts of Indian Engineers and Scientists.

Celebration started with an inspiring ad-

dress by Dr. Rajesh goel, Director SGI. It

was followed by an exhaustive presenta-

tion on Nuclear Weapon Programme of In-

dia by Prof. H.L. Chhatwal, Dean & Assoc.

Director SGI. Prof. Chhatwal is Ex. Scientist „G‟ of DRDO. During his talk he presented the his-

tory of Indian Nuclear Weapons Programme and gave comprehensive details of „Pokharan-I‟

done in 1974 done under the leadership of Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Dr. Raja Rammama and

„Pokhran-II‟done in 1998 under the leadership of Sh. A.B. Vajpayee, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and

Dr. R. Chidambram.

Audience was excited by the details of crucial Journey from BARC to Pokhran where the explo-

sion were made. Prof. chhatwal also shared his memories with Dr. R. Rammama and Dr. APJ

Abdul Kalam and paid compliment to them for their outstanding contributions. It was followed

by a video of recent successful launch of ICBM Agni V.

National Technology Day is a big event now and is celebrated by all the Science & technology

departments of the nation. In addition to defense related Technologies, Civil Technologies or

dual use technologies are also described in details and rewarded by various departments. De-

tails of innovation centers are also brought to the knowledge of Nation.

Two students Piyush Sharma (B.Tech.2nd Semester), Arvind kumar (B.Tech.2nd Semester) of

SGI presented excellent presentations on Nuclear Fission, Detonation & High voltage Trigging

system. On this occasion all HOD‟s and faculty members were present in addition to a very

large number of students.

SGI has tied up with Manpower Services India Pvt. Ltd., for improving the personality of its stu-

dents and providing them knowledge about the communication and interview skills to improve

their place-ability.

nication is a very important part of personality of a person as it is not only help you to get im-

portance at the work place but at your social places also. He appreciated that SGI manage-

ment is doing its best to inculcate best corporate culture among its students and this trend

will be way of success at SGI. The event was organized by Mr. S.K. Matta, HOD, MBA . About

35 students from MBA and PGDM were present in the event. The session was coordinated by

Arpana (PGDM 4th Semester), Mohit (PGDM 4th Semester), Ajay (PGDM 4th Semester).

2012.The places for the field visit were Panorma and Plana-

tarium at kurukshetra. A group of 56 students of ME, CIVIL and EEE branch first year

of Samalkha Group of Institutions under the guidance of four

Faculty members Ms. Nishu Singh, Mr. Shyam S. Saini, Ms.

Garima Garg and Ms. Anupam Mann of Faculty of Engineer-

ing visited the place. The students coordinator for the tour

Naveen Grewal, Sourabh singh, Anil kumar and others noted down the main points for their field

visit report. The students were very much delighted by the experience & Knowledge gained during

the visit of the places.
