In today’s world where new materials are being developed, older

materials and bonding methods are being subjected to higher

pressures and loads, NDT ensures that materials can continue to

operate to their highest capacity with the assurance that they will

not fail within predetermined time limits.

Common NDT methods include ultrasonic, magnetic-particle, liquid

penetrant, radiographic, visual inspection , eddy-current testing .

The eld of NDT plays a critical role in inspecting that structural

component and systems perform their function in a reliable fashion.

Successful NDT tests allow locating and characterizing material conditions

and aws.

NDT Non Destructive Testing

CSWIP provides internationally recognised role-specic competence for

people engaged in welding, joining materials integrity and inspection in

manufacturing construction operations or repair of high integrity structures,

plant or machinary. CSWIP certication Scheme are UKAS accredited to

ISO/IEC/17024,the international standard of personnel certication.

British Gas Approval Scheme (BGAS) addresses numerous paint

types and systems used in the construction and are suitable for

candidates with industrial painting. The course is largely theoreti-

cal but involves hands-on experience with relevant inspection

equipment and bias towards British Gas / National Frid painting

practices. BGAS certication has got two Grades as BGAS Gr : 3/2

and Gr : 1. BGAS Gr : 3/2 addresses importance of surface prepara-

tion on numerous of application and testing used in the Construc-

tion & Industrial segments. BGAS Gr : 1 an advanced qualication

deals specically with o shore practices to recognise laws and

structures of oshore platform.

can easily bridge into other programs CSWIP 3.1 and reap

additional benets. The welding course will be based on ASME

SEC IX specically but will also include AWS and ASME SEC VIII

guidelines, modules will be Welding inspection and certication,

safe practices for welding inspectors, metal joining and cutting

process, weld joint geometry and welding symbols, welding

metallurgy and weld metal discontinuities, visual inspection

and other NDT methods, WPS/PQR as per ASME SEC IX, welding

process at your works and improvement scopes and case studies as

per your scope of work.

AWS ( American Welding Society )

The American Petroleum Institute (API) runs a certication

programme for individual, especially for the in-service

inspection of pressure vessels, piping and above ground

Storage tanks. The API schemes are linked to specic set of

API and ASME codes relating to the type of equipment

covered : API 510: Pressure vessel inspector, API 570: Authorized

Piping inspector, API 653: Storage tank inspector above ground

and these are the main ones. API standards are designed to

assist industry professionals improve the eciency and cost

eectiveness of their operations.

API - 571 Corrosion and Materials Professional

API - 577 Welding Inspection and Metallurgy Professional

API - 580 Risk Based Inspection Professional
