TRAILS IN LONG BRANCH STREAM VALLEY:

Approximately 3.1 miles of existing trail in a major floodplain

Predominantly bluestone dust on a gravel base

0.54 mile currently paved – mostly in Rutherford Park

Woodland Way to Canterbury Woods Park (prior to 2000)

Olley lane to Woodland Way (2003)

Olde Forge Park to Whitacre Rd.

ISSUES:

50% - 70% of trail in poor condition

Puddling causes trail to be widened and braided

Flooding results in need for more annual maintenance

Major floods result in serious damage

Source of erosion into Long Branch

Trail closure when wet or in need of repair
