for your character to praise

Adding Friends

Shards● There are few shards in Neverwinter: Mindflayer,

Beholder, or Dragon ● To play the game with friends you will need to be

on the same shard● Reportedly, eventually, the shards will be merged;

but until merger you will need to be on the same shard as your friends

Social Interface● To find a person you need to open

“Social” in the game (o) and go to the corresponding tab

Finding People● You can search by character name and add that

character as a friend● You can search by account name, to search and

add by account name you must type @insert name here, adding friends this way ensures you will be friends with all of their characters

Account Names● When you sign up you are asked to create an account

name● A setting in the game makes account names visible

after character names, it is off by default, to turn this setting on you need to go to options/interface/chat (esc)

● Turning this setting on is recommended●

Navigating

Quest Path● A convenient sparkly line of “bread crumbs” that leads

you in the direction of your objective, to know what your objectives are open your quest log (j)

● The path can be diverted to any point on the map by clicking a spot on the map (m), clicking the spot creates a marker on the map, this marker remains until you remove it (even after you reach your destination), clicking on the marker in the map removes it

Change Instance● It is possible that even if you are on the same

shard as a friend you might not be in the same instance

● Areas are instanced to alleviate traffic● You can switch instances and join your friend

by click the option in the lower right corner of the map (m)

● A list will be generated giving the population of the different instances and will state how many friends you have among the populous

● Used for potions, kits, and other common items

Astral Diamonds

● An uncommon currency acquired through performing invocation, certain tasks in the “Leadership” profession, and through the auction house

● Used to consign and purchase items from the auction house

● Other uses include buying epic gear/items from retailers and needed to perform certain services like binding/unbinding enchantments and runestones

● May be converted from Zen

Zen

● A currency that is purchased and converted from a dollar value, for example, $5 would buy 500 Zen

● Zen can be exchanged within the game for Astral Diamonds and vice versa

● Zen is used for account services and vanity items

Celestial Coins● like Ardent Coins are obtained by performing invocation,

but unlike Ardent Coins, Celestial Coins expire if you don't invoke at least once a day; one coin per day, usually rewarded with your first invocation of the day (within a 24 hour period)

● It is best to save at least 5 Celestial Coins and invest in a “Blessed Resource Pack.” Or save 7 and trade for “Coffer of Wonderous Augmentation

● Traded at the “Vault of Piety” which can be accessed through your inventory (i) on the riches tab by clicking spend

Ardent Coins

● Are obtained by performing invocation, one coin per day, usually rewarded with your first invocation of the day (within a 24 hour period)

● Traded at the “Vault of Piety” which can be accessed through your inventory (i) on the riches tab by clicking spend

Seals

● There are different seals associated with different levels: Lion (level 16 through 32), Drake, Unicorn, Manticore (38 through 42), and Pegasus (49 through 55)

● You can trade Ardent Coins for seals (for example, 1 Ardent Coin for 4 seals)

● You can trade “badges” taken off mobs to a Bounty Master to trade for a seal (for example, 40 for 1 seal)

● Rewarded from dungeons
