Students Statistics in UK:-

The UK's Higher Education system is oversubscribed, with 1.68 million.

The UK has seen a rapid rise in student numbers with a 15% increase in university applicants between 2008 and 2013, which suggests the sector is resilient to economic cycles.

In part, this has been driven by increased interest from the international student market, which views the UK as a place to receive high quality tertiary education.

Over the last five years there has been a 22% increase in overseas students attending UK universities full time.

38% in privately rented house or flat.

27% in parental home.

19% in halls, flat or house run by university of college.

6% in own home.

4% in privately owned halls of residence.

Choosing right place to live is one of the biggest decisions you have to make before you start your course.

Every Student don’t prefer to leave in Halls of residence many students choose to live in the private rented sector, purpose-built student developments or to stay at home.

Halls of Residence:-

University halls have some good benefits in terms of making friends and living with students will help you to know others.

If you are going to be living away for the first time than university halls will be good for you as you can get benefits of independence without worrying about the complications of bills or landlords.

Pros:-

A good chance to live with many students and to know each other well.

You will never get yourself alone. Extra Support from University will be available if u needs it.

Easy way to live alone away from home.

Cons:-

You will not be available to choose with whom you want to live.

No guarantees: you might don’t get a place in preferred accommodation.

Living with many students will make you to put up with noise and mess.

Private Student halls:- A Second option is to go for a specific purpose room that serve students living

complex.

The rooms will be same as universities room, but it’s owned by private company.

If you are going for private room make sure you do some research into what facilities you will be getting for your money before getting your room.

Your university will have an approved list of student rental companies, and may have a more formal partnership in place with a private company to provide student accommodation.

Pros:- Built for students so same advantages applies as students in University halls.

Handy perks such as Wi-Fi and many other things can be a part of package.

Students can get hall on your preferred location.

Cons:- Private hall will cost you more compared to universities hall.

Same students problem arise noise, not choosing who you live with, mess and so on.

Private Accommodation:- If you are mature and want to live alone outside the premises of universities

than private rented sector will be best choice.

Living in private property will enable you to decide where you want to live and with whom.

Usually Universities have approved lists of landlords and lettings agents.

Pros:- Students can take decision by their own.

The private rental halls are packed with different living options to suit you.

Cons:- You may find yourself outside main campus.

You will need to manage budget especially managing bills.

Living at home:- Many Students prefer living at home as it can significantly cut your costs.

You just need to put more efforts; you will meet many students in your lectures and outside.

Pros:- You can save your money.

You need not to worry about cooking, cleaning, laundry and many more.

Cons:- You will need to alternative ways to meet people as you are away from

student’s hall.
