New York Times ArticleThe Membership/Marketing Committee continues

to work with a Public Relations Professional to gener-ate unique opportunities that will highlight the fine attributes of the Lake Naomi Club.

The Committee’s latest success was having the Club included in an article that appeared in the Escape Section of the New York Times on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Club Members Beth and Brian Lowe were quoted in the “Short Stays Lasting Love” article.

Advertising in publications of this magnitude are cost prohibitive. Articles mentioning Lake Naomi-Timber Trails in publications like the Wall Street Journal and New York Times are very cost effective. In many cases, having the Community mentioned in an article actu-ally has a bigger impact than a paid advertisement.

Congratulations to the Membership/Marketing Committee. We look forward to Lake Naomi-Timber Trails being a part of many more articles as a part of this unique initiative.

To view the article go the Club’s website www.LakeNaomiClub.com where the link is listed in the What’s Happening section.

Lake Naomi – Timber Trails prides itself in being a very supportive community. Many Members have experienced assistance from our neighbors, Ranger Department, Ambulance Corps, Fire Company and Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

A program offered by the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department, appropri-ately titled “We Care”, is designed to provide added security to the elderly, disabled or ill who live alone. Each day, except Sunday, between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, the participating person is to call the Police Department and “check in” so that the Police know everything is fine and that they are well. If no call is received by 11:00 AM, the Police will call them. If no response is obtained, an Officer and Ranger will be dispatched to the residence to check on their well being.

Encourage friends, neighbors and acquaintances that live in the area and may need this service to contact PMRPD at 570, 895-2400 or the Ranger Department at 570, 646-9191 to request a “We Care” application.

The Management Team and appropriate committees are continually discussing better ways to serve our Club Members. In order for us to provide better quality programs, we need your help in abiding by the registration guidelines for Clubhouse, Recreation and Special Events. The registration list determines the amount of staff, supplies and time that are needed to conduct a program. A deadline date is established to determine whether it is still feasible to hold the event and/or allow staff enough time to make any necessary changes. The majority of people sign up for events just before the deadline. This often causes last minute revamping of programs to accommodate those attending and in some cases events have been canceled due to insufficient registration numbers. Help us to better serve you by signing up for events as soon as possible and noting the deadline dates. This will allow adequate time to prepare the best events possible.

Night Recreation – 2009Night Recreation has always been a time when

young Members can come out in the evening at Lake Naomi and Timber Trails and have fun together in a supervised environment. In keeping with this tradition, but adding the utmost care and safety for our young Members, the Club has kept with the practice of splitting children based on grade for attendance at Night Recreation. Upon recommendations from all involved, the following schedule will be followed for the 2009 Summer Season beginning on Monday, June 29:

Team Member in Training (T.M.I.T.) ProgramCome “Team It” with Lake Naomi! The Recreation Department will again be offer-

ing a volunteer program for ninth graders ( Please note: you must be going in to the ninth grade in September 2009 to participate in this program). This program is de-signed to give young Members the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to be con-sidered for a position at Lake Naomi – Timber Trails in the future. Trainees will gain real world experience by shadowing others and also actively participating in the task at hand. Participants of the T.M.I.T. program will be trained primarily in Recreation, which includes Kids Klub, Afternoon Klub, Kub Klub and various Special Events and activities. One hour a week will be spent in a classroom like setting discussing topics such as leadership, safety, customer service and more.

One thing that is great about this program is that it is extremely flexible. To of-ficially complete this training program, participants are required to have logged 45 hours total throughout the summer and hours can be varied throughout the day and the week. Therefore, even those with constraints on their schedule due to outside jobs, babysitting, swim team practice, etc. can still participate in this program. Those inter-ested in the program should fill out an application at the Community Center. The ap-plication deadline is April 20, 2009. There is a $50 registration fee (once you receive your acceptance letter) for participants which covers the cost of instruction, materi-als, uniform and a group trip at the end of the summer. For more information on the T.M.I.T. program, please call Recreation Manager Kate Brown at (570) 646-8585.

Grade level is determined by the level a child will be in as of September 2009. A school photo ID or copy of the child’s report card will be required to be shown at the Community Center in order for the child’s badge to be properly labeled.

In trying to keep all of our young Member’s programs uniform and upon recom-mendation from the Club’s Insurance Underwriters, Kids Klub also will again adhere to splitting children by grade rather than age. This minor change is intended to enhance the enjoyment by all involved and keep our children interacting with those most ap-propriate. The Night Recreation Program will take place at the Community Center and run through August 28th. The Recreation Staff will be on hand for a variety of games and activities. The Game Room, Multi-Purpose Room, Mezzanine Area, Outdoor Pavilion, Outdoor Fields and some Activity Rooms will be available to participants during their designated time of Night Recreation. Be sure to join in the fun.

Lake Naomi Club Seasonal Employment Opportunities The Lake Naomi Club’s Summer Operating Season requires many seasonal Team

Members to run the fantastic amenities Lake Naomi – Timber Trails has to offer. The Club has again been very fortunate to receive notice from many Team Members interested in returning to positions they’ve held in previous years. However, we have also been notified of Team Members unable to return, leaving positions to fill for 2009. Applications are being considered NOW to fill summer employment openings. Management interviews applicants early in order to secure the best Team Members possible to serve the Lake Naomi Club Membership. Contact the Administrative Office at (570) 646-9191 to request an application or fill out an application online at www.LakeNaomiClub.com. Boat Registration Stickers

Members are alerted that all watercraft registration stickers must be permanently affixed to the watercraft assigned to that registration sticker. Any temporary attachment of watercraft registration stickers is prohibited. The proper place-ment for stickers is the starboard (right) side of the stern (back).

Open for Summer SeasonBe sure to include a day at the Tim-ber Trails Pool in your late Spring

and early Summer plans!

Tennis Talk With the outdoor tennis season arriving quickly, I wanted to use this edition of Re-

flections to outline many of the McKee Tennis offerings for 2009. We have modified some programs while adding new ones.

On the junior side, the clinics remain in place with a few changes: Quick Start I (for 3 to 6 yr. olds) replaces Future Stars and Quick Start II has been added to encourage those beginning players in the 7-9 yr. old range to learn the game; the Total Tennis Training Group replaces the Warriors and will meet four times per week.

A new Mental Toughness Training class has been created, which incorporates on and off court sessions. A Flexibility and Strength class has also been added, which will greatly enhance the tennis game. Janet and I will be conducting three per week. We want to encourage families to take our Saturday afternoon class together. Our Saturday junior cardio and Quick Hands and Feet class has been modified to include much more hitting.

A junior mini-camp will be offered June 13th and 14th, as well as the Total Tennis Camp June 29th-July 3rd. Regular weekly clinics begin July 6th.

We have changed our Junior Team Tennis format to mirror the adult team tennis, which we feel will add fun and excitement to that program.

On the Adult side, in addition to individual lessons, numerous other programs are of-fered. Video lessons are available and are a great way to evaluate your game. If desired, your video will be uploaded to YouTube. Our Cardio Tennis classes will continue with a new Thursday “Red-Hot” intensive class. Tuesday and Thursday mornings, Janet and Bobby will conduct the Flexibility and Strength classes, along with the Saturday afternoon session previously mentioned.

Richard is offering his adult clinics throughout the week, and has added a new Sports Psychology class which incorporates both on and off court sessions.

Backhands and Brews returns, as well as Lobs and Lagers on selected Saturdays. Our Parent/Child is in place again, as well as a new Couples Adult Tourney in late August.

We are starting some clinics and social play earlier this year, so please be sure to visit www.lakenaomitennis.com for dates and detailed descriptions. Many of our Junior and Adult programs are available online for sign-up now. If you prefer, please feel free to contact me by phone 828, 514-1808 or email [email protected].

We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Bobby McKee

Pre-Season Tennis With the Lake Naomi Club Tennis

Center courts opening for weekend use in early May, we often get ques-tions about how Members can utilize

the courts during the times the Pro Shop is not open during the mid week

and late in the day on weekends. A number of the Lake Naomi

Tennis Center courts will be made “available for walk on play” from

May 2nd – June 26th. The available courts may be played as “walk on”

all day (8:30AM until dark) midweek and after 1:30 PM on weekends after the Pro Shop has closed. Members

should refer to the posting on the Pro Shop door to find which courts

are “available” and must record their usage in the log on the podium next

to the posting. All Members and Guest must be recorded. All court

etiquette, dress code and Guest poli-cies apply during times of “walk on play” and Members must carry their Membership ID badges while using

the facilities. During these times the Pro Shop

and additional staff services will not be available, with the exception of re-strooms which will be available at all times the courts are. Sweeping and

lining equipment will be available for Members to self maintain their courts.

Tennis Rating SystemThe Tennis Committee and McKee Team will continue using the rating system put into

place in 2007 in an effort to provide uniform classification of Tennis player’s ability for proper placement of players in competitive tennis. The system used is what is recommended by the USTA, the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP). The Tennis Committee and Professional Team feel it is a quality system and will continue to use it as the Club’s official rating system for competitive play, clinics and functions that require a player’s ability to place a player on the appropriate court, like Team Tennis. A copy of the NTRP “General Characteristics” will be included in the 2009 season’s Tennis Activities Guide and posted in the Pro Shop. Additional copies are always available at the Lake Naomi Tennis Center Pro Shop and at the Timber Trails Tennis Hut. In addition to the descriptions of each rating provided by the USTA, you can also look forward to each Tennis Committee Member’s self rating being posted. The Committee is offering this as a point of reference for some Members who feel they’d like to compare them-selves to some other players in helping them decide where to rate themselves.

Tennis Tournaments The Tennis Committee has spent many hours

working through your many suggestions for the Club Championship Tournaments and have overhauled the 2009 event as follows:

Juniors Tennis Tournaments: The Junior Tournament will have a weekend dedicated to just their tournament and will no longer share their weekend with the Early Rounds and Quarter Finals of an Adult Tournament. This will allow for the Junior matches to have enough courts for play and an opportunity to utilize the stadium courts where so many of you requested them to be. Adults will also be able to watch the junors play without conflict of adult matches. Singles (Junior,Teen and Rallyball), Doubles (Junior, Teen, and Rallyball), Mixed Doubles (Junior and Teen) remain in the tournament. Junior divisions are for those 12 years of age and under and teens are for 13 to17 year olds. Rallyball is for those less experienced just getting into competitive play. Age deadline is based on your birthday as of September 30, 2009.

Adult Tennis Tournaments: There are a couple exciting changes in the Adult Tourna-ments for 2009. The 2009 Ladies Singles Tournament will take place over one weekend, July 11 and July 12. This addresses the concern for Adults not being able to commit to four days of play spread over two consecutive weekends. This later date will also give Members a better opportunity to register for the tournament. (On a side note, the tourna-ment schedule works backwards from the End of Tournament Celebration, which can only be held so late in the year before Members start heading home for school and sports obli-gations.) The Men’s Singles Tournament will continue with the traditional two weekend schedule July 4 & July 5 and July 11 & July 12. Evaluation will take place at the end of the season to see which format works better for the Tennis Club.

The second change for the 09 Tournaments is in the Categories for each Division. The Open, 50s and 65s categories have been replaced with “A” and “B” categories for all Divisions (Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.) The major difference in this change is that players will only be able to play in one category. With this change the match times can be determined in advance and will be included on the registration form so players can make their plans ahead of time. All matches will be scheduled for the mornings since there will no longer be a need to spread matches throughout the day for multiple category players. It is anticipated that both players and spectators will be pleased with this change.

All the additional details you’ll need including dates, times, fees, rules and format for play will be outlined on the online registration forms available with the next issue of Reflections. As always, they will also be available at the Lake Naomi Tennis Center Pro Shop. All Ten-nis Members are encouraged to join in the games to make this a true Club Championship.

McKee Schedule The McKees will return in 2009 for their sixth season of providing superior Tennis

Professional Services for the Lake Naomi Club Membership. Although Bobby never really stops serving the Club while he’s in the south over the winter, we know every-one is excited to have him back here as soon as possible. Bobby will be arriving just before Memorial Day Weekend and will remain here on a full time basis through the weekend after Labor Day. Most of you know the continually increasing participation in clinics, lessons and events keeps the McKees very busy in the main summer season so this is a reminder to book your lessons early. Although he’s taking registrations, meeting with product reps and merchandising the Pro Shop in early June, he is also available for some valuable pre-season instruction. The best way to reach Bobby is via e-mail at [email protected] And don’t worry, Richard is arriving right behind in early June. The pre-season opportunities continue to grow thanks to the McKee team!

Men’s Golf LeagueThe 2009 Men’s Golf League is poised and ready to get underway. All men who

are Golf Members in good standing are invited to attend any Friday morning starting April 3. There are no other requirements and all levels of golfers are encouraged to participate. This weekly social gathering meets on Fridays at 8:45 AM at the Timber Trails Golf Course and begins at 9:00 AM with a shotgun start. For more information contact the Golf Center at 570, 646-9060.

Exciting Addition to the “Rally for the Cure” The Tennis Committee will be planning a fun tennis day in conjunction with golf so

that there is a way for both tennis players and golfers to participate in this worth while event. Participants will not have to choose which to do if they’re interested in both as we are planning the tennis event for Wednesday, July 22. Future issues of Reflections will update the progress and outline all the details of the events scheduled.

Golf NotesLooks to be a very exciting year with the new

irrigation system in place, the golf course will be in pristine condition making your golfing experience even more enjoyable. We will have a great variety of activities this year to enhance your golfing experience. These activities include tournaments, leagues, clinics and much more. A couple dates to write on your calendar are the Rally For a Cure July 23, Timber Trails Club Championship August 15 and 16 and the Golf Banquet August 23. The Junior Golf League starts Wednesday, June 24. This is a great opportunity for juniors with previous playing experience to meet other juniors and play our great course. The Junior Clinic will begin Thursday, July 9. This six weeks of instruction will cover all the fundamentals and etiquette of the game. The clinics are limited to 15 students so please don’t delay in enrolling your youngster. The Adult Clinics will start Wednesday, June 10th at 3:00 PM. These clin-ics are designed to help you learn the fundamentals and understand the dynamics of the golf swing. These classes are limited to eight students. Something new on the horizon for 2009 will be a series of inter club matches with Wild Pines Golf Club for our Junior golfers. This is a great chance for our kids to get some valuable tournament experience playing against some excellent players from Wild Pines. Look for more details in an upcoming Reflections articles.

New clothing lines have been added to the Timber Trails Golf Shop that will help you look like a pro. There will be something for everyone including outerwear, golf shirts, skorts or shorts. If you are looking to purchase golf clubs or accessories the Timber Trails Golf Shop has very competitive prices. Feel free to call the Golf Center, I will be happy to answer any questions regarding equipment. I look forward to an outstanding season filled with many cherished golfing memories.

quirements for this League except to be a Golf Member in good standing. Each Thursday, before the shotgun start, our golf pro Bob Millard will

“Rally for a Cure” - Ladies’ Golf TournamentThe “Rally for a Cure” Ladies’ Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, July 23

at the Timber Trails Golf Course. Eileen Chimerine and Marjorie Seger are once again co-chairing this wonderful event. The money raised will be supporting the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation. They are committed to promoting breast health, fostering the healing process and providing a public agenda for the prevention and cure of breast cancer. They carry out this mission by sponsoring education programs and by maintain-ing an advocacy network throughout the state. They also provide free mammograms and diagnostic tests for women who do not qualify for government programs and have little or no medical insurance.

Help us change the world as we know it. This event is successful because of you and your generous support. If you are able to donate your time or talents please email Eileen Chimerine at [email protected] or Marjoire Seger at [email protected]. More information about the big day will be forthcoming in the next edition of Reflections.

Golf Membership Required Play on the Timber Trails Golf

Course (including play during the Pre and Post Seasons and week-

days) is limited to Club Members who have joined the Golf Club for

2009 and their bona fide guests. When the Golf Shop is not

staffed, the Golf Maintenance Staff and the Patrol Rangers will monitor play on the course. Please be sure

to have your Lake Naomi Club Membership Card available for

review whenever you are playing the course. Proper golf attire is re-quired all times on the golf course.

Just a reminder, Lake Naomi and Timber Trails property owners who do not have Golf Membership are

not eligible to be a guest at the Golf Course. This limitation includes

Special Events.

Golf Course EtiquetteAs a general reminder, we think it is important to reiterate some of the basic prin-

ciples of behavior on and around a golf course, particularly at a private club like ours. Repair and maintenance of the golf course is not just a job for the Timber Trails Golf Maintenance Team. So let’s all lend a hand. Fix your ball mark and one other. Replace your divots. If the divot cannot be effectively replaced, please use the sand/seed mixture instead. This is most important on the teeing areas. They are subject to heavy use and require everyone’s attention. Also, we ask that all rakes be placed inside the bunkers.

With regard to “tees”, used and/or broken tees should be removed from the ground and placed in the containers provided in the tee box areas on each hole. This may seem like a minor concern, but be assured the build up of broken tees has been significant. So please help us keep your course free from this type of debris.

We all strive to keep the course in the best possible playing condition. The weather has much to do with condition of the course. Since none of us can control the weather, we can only react to what the weather provides us. So, when you see the signs that say “Cart Path Only”, remember it is being done so that the course will not be further damaged by the conditions that the weather has already created. Your cooperation and assistance is appreciated.

Open Sailing RegattaThe Sailing Season kicks off on Sunday, May 24,

with the Memorial Day Sailing Regatta. There will be two races for all fleets (Sunfish, Laser and Duster) beginning at 12:00 Noon. Registration takes place on the beach prior to the first race. This is a great opportunity to find all your gear and get yourself ready for another great competitive sailing season on Lake Naomi.

Adult Sailing ClassesThe LNC Sailing Association

would like to encourage Adult Members to enroll in Adult Sailing Instructional Classes this summer. Adult group sailing classes will be offered for beginners and advanced

beginners on Saturday morn-ings throughout the summer. All

Members 17 years of age and older are encouraged to participate. Two,

three week sessions will be of-fered. The first takes place on July 11, 18 and 25, and the second on

August 1, August 8 and August 15. Classes run from 9:00 AM to 11:00

AM and from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, depending on your assigned group. Whether you are a begin-ner, advanced beginner or inter-

ested in learning racing techniques, our Sailing Instructors welcome

individuals of all abilities and Lake Naomi is an ideal location for

learning and practicing this great sport. Registration for the classes

will be taken from 10:00 AM - Noon on June 13, 14, 20 and 21 at the Club Beach Sailing Office. Spaces are limited and available to Members on a first come, first

serve basis. There is a registration fee of $75 per Club Member for the instructional program. Each

registrant will be invited to attend the End of Season Sailing Recep-

tion held over Labor Day Weekend. Class sizes are limited, so register

early. Anyone interested in individ-ual sailing instruction should also inquire at the Sailing Office, (570) 646-LAKE, for more information

on rates and scheduling throughout the summer. The Pre-Season Sail-ing Office hours are: Saturday &

Sunday from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM beginning Memorial Day Weekend. Our Sailing Staff look forward to

speaking with you soon.

Twentieth Annual Family Sailing DinnerThe Lake Naomi Club Sailing Association hopes you’ll join them on Sunday, May

24 for a fun family evening. The Lake Naomi Clubhouse Main Dining Room will open at 5:00 PM for a cash bar followed by a family style buffet dinner at 6:00 PM that includes carved roast beef, white balsamic grilled chicken topped with spinach, artichokes and sundried tomatoes, sautéed pacific rockfish with tomatoes, fresh herbs and chardonnay butter, baked penne ala vodka, chesapeake roasted potatoes, fresh garden vegetables, composed salads and homemade apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. The cost per adult is $26.00. The cost for children ages 4 to 11 is only $12 for their own buffet of every kid’s favorites like chicken fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers, baked penne and marinara and french fries. There is no charge for children under the age of 4. After dinner the Sailing Association’s Fleet Captains, Race Committee and Commodore will briefly outline the Sailing Events and Races planned for summer of 2009 and re-cap the Memorial Day Regatta which marks the opening of the sailing season. The annual Sportsmanship award will also be awarded. All Club Members are encouraged to attend this event. For more information see the online flyer. To register contact the Community Center at 570, 646-8585 or visit www.LakeNaomi-Club.com to register online. Pre-registration is required by May 17.Important Sailing Race Reminders

The Lake Naomi Club Sailing Association requires all sailboats participating in any of the sailing races or regattas to have a number posted on their sail and to check in with the Race Committee prior to racing to indicate your intention to race. When doing so simply sail to the downwind side of the Tiki and hail your information to the Race Committee. You must tell them your full name and boat number and that you’re registering to race. This is the norm for sailboat racing as it is the only way for the Race Committee to adequately track all participants involved and expecting their start and finish to be tallied in the day’s scoring. It is also customary to inform the Race Committee if you’re leaving the racing before the final finish rather than leaving them to wonder what your plan is. If you do not already have your sail numbered and wish to participate in the sailing races this summer, please stop by the Sailing Office lo-cated at Club Beach to be assigned an available number and obtain the actual numbers for your sail. While you’re there, please do not hesitate to ask the Sailing Staff for pointers on how to properly affix the sailing numbers to your sail if you do not have experience in doing so. The Sailing Office is open weekends May 23rd through June 21st from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and then seven days a week beginning June 27th.Not Ready For Prime Time (NRPT) Sailboat Racing

So what exactly is “Not Ready for Prime Time”? This is a sailing fleet designed for sailors that know how to sail but don’t quite feel ready to participate in all the exciting planned races. The idea is you don’t have to be a seasoned sailor to join in the fun. If you can tack into the wind and make your way around the set marks (a triangular course) then this is for you! These races are meant to be a learning experience. The Committee Boat crew will help you with how and when you start and directions on how to get around the course. Skippers may also be offered pointers and instructions by the Safety Boat Operators on how to set their sail and point their boat. Junior and Adult sailors will be split into two separate fleets for scoring and will start separately, three minutes apart.

NRPT sailing races will again be held on Saturdays throughout the summer season beginning July 11. Races begin around 2:30 PM, just after the series races finish. These races are also conveniently scheduled just after the Adult Weekly Sailing Les-sons held on Saturday mornings. Rental sailboats are available for NRPT if arranged in advance with the Sailing Office. A full listing of scheduled races is in the Sailing section of the Summer Calendar and on the NRPT flyer posted on the bulletin board outside the Sailing Office on the beach level of the Lake Naomi Clubhouse. You should also be aware… the NRPT pennant flies on the flagpole on any Saturday there is scheduled NRPT racing. There’s sailing opportunities for sailors of all abilities on Lake Naomi, so come out to join in the fun!

Kayak Racks In an effort to continue improv-

ing the Club’s most used beach and marina areas, additional racks continue to be added in an effort to accommodate the growing kayak

population. We hope this additional improvement helps meet the needs

of the boating Membership.

Trout Season OpeningThe 2009 Fishing season for trout opens Saturday,

April 18 at 8:00 AM on all streams, lakes and ponds in the area. In preparation for this event, the Club will be stocking up stream and down stream of Lake Naomi with Rainbow and Brown Trout. The first Spring Fish Stock-ing will take place on Saturday, April 4 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The trout will be released in the upper and lower streams. This rain or shine event is great for the family, many hands are needed. Meet in the Administrative Office parking lot at 8:00 AM for a continental breakfast, coffee and hot chocolate. This is part of the annual stocking program conducted by the Lakes Committee of the Lake Naomi Club.

Please note that the Club’s creel limit for Trout is different than the State of Penn-sylvania. The creel limit for trout in Lake Naomi is four (4) and all fish must measure at least seven (7”) inches. Resident licenses for ages 16 to 64 are $22. Non-resident licenses are $52. Trout permits are $9.00 additional. You qualify for a resident fishing license if you are a bona fide resident of Pennsylvania. You must show positive proof of permanent residence. There is a one day tourist pass that includes all stamps and licenses for $26.00 (not valid in April).

Purchase your fishing license online at PA Fish and Boat Commission website – www.fish.state.pa.us/license.htm. It only takes a few moments to purchase your PA Fishing License and related permits (stamps). If you rent your home please share this information with your renters so they too can enjoy great fishing at LN-TT.

Any questions on the locations of sport and bait shops in our area where you can obtain regulations, laws and licensing should be directed to the Administrative Office.

Ladies Sailing The Lake Naomi Club Sailing

Association is continuing their ef-forts to get more Ladies involved in sailing. Because the Club continues to receive feedback that the ladies are too busy to attend regular fleet gatherings or an event on the busy weekends, the Club will continue

with Ladies Sailing Sessions. These sessions are for ladies of all abilities (even those with no previous sailing skills) who are invited to come share their experiences, ask their questions and get on the water. Seasoned lady sailors and instructors will conduct the sessions and discuss technique and boat information as the group dictates. The idea is to bring Lady Members with interest in sailing

together. The only requirements are you must be at least 16 years of age and able to swim. You do not need

to own a boat as the Club rental pro-gram offers them. Please call to ex-press your interest and to give some general information about yourself

and your availability. Groups will be formed with other ladies who have similar goals and availabilities and schedules will be made to suit your

need. If you want to learn sailing the Club will make it happen for you!

Please contact Meredith Sensenig at the Administrative Office at 646-

9191 Ext. 113 or email [email protected].

Dog Park RemindersThe Club would like Members and their pets to enjoy the Dog Park with a few safety

suggestions in mind. • Make your initial visit to the park during a non-peak time. This allows you and your pet to become familiar with the area. Non-peak times are usually weekdays during the late afternoon. • Know your dog. Not all dogs are good candidates for off-leash dog parks. If your dog has not had regular interaction with other dogs, it may lack the necessary social skills to make your visit safe and enjoyable. • Let your dog off-leash as soon as you enter the park. Mixing of leashed and unleashed dogs commonly causes problems. Leashed dogs often feel threatened by the free dogs and can display defensive behavior. Mount Pocono, the group that has been handling Club special events like Breakfast with Santa and the

Easter Egg Hunt for countless years, has agreed to come to Lake Naomi – Timber Trails by appointment in order to accommodate the portrait

needs of Club Members.V.I.P. stands for Versatility In

Photography and Members can be assured that they will do everything possible to accommodate your spe-cial needs. The phone number for

V.I.P. Studios is 570, 839-2020.

Membership Fairness In trying to help a friend or neighbor, often Club Members do not realize how much

they are actually hurting other friends and neighbors.Have you ever been asked to register a boat for a friend or neighbor who is not a

Club Member or to take them as your guest to a Club facility? While on the surface it may appear that you are just helping that friend or neighbor, you are in reality hurting the Club and hurting your friends and neighbors who are Members of the Club.

If you ever get such a request, please encourage the individuals to join the Club. Membership Committee Members and Club Staff Members are always available to talk with these people about the options available for Club Membership and the ben-efits of joining and supporting the Club.

Thinking about Renting your LN-TT Property? The Club has received many inquiries from Members who are looking for a way to

ease the burden of today’s economy by renting out their homes for a week, weekend or entire season. We understand that this can be a daunting decision. Through the Tem-porary Membership program the Club has been involved with thousands of renters and homeowners through the years. The most satisfied participants are those who worked with the Pocono Pines’ real estate agencies. The renter has a point person to turn to, while at the same time the homeowner has a set of eyes looking over their property.

The rental agent can help you initially by providing you with price comparables of other available houses. Your rental agent will also inspect your home to ensure that it is renter ready. If it is not ready, they will make recommendations (and help you locate plumbers or electricians if you need them) so that you will receive the highest rent possible and your renter will have an enjoyable experience. Then your agent will work closely with a cleaning company so that your home is ready either for the next renter, or for you. And as that cleaning company becomes familiar with your property they will be able to spot any losses or damage and can notify your agent who will either resolve the concern or work with you to resolve it. Your agent will prepare your house by ensuring that the electric service, heat and water are turned on before the renter arrives and that the house is cleaned and ready for your renters. Once the renter leaves, the agent will check the house and make sure that trash and other important things have been properly

taken care of. Hopefully you and your renters will have a good experience and the renters will want to come back to Lake Naomi over and over again.

Please remember your property must have Full Amenity Family Membership so that the renters can participate in the Temporary Membership program.

Timber Trails Member GateThe Timber Trails Community As-

sociation has installed an automated Members gate system at the entrance to Timber Trails. The gate is activat-ed by a bar code reader that reads a bar code sticker on your vehicle and access to Timber Trails is obtained.

This gate will provide quicker access to amenities by minimizing the wait-ing time for guests to be signed in at the Ranger attended gate. TTCA is offering the benefit of this system to all Lake Naomi Club Members. As a Lake Naomi Club Member, you can purchase a bar code sticker or

stickers at a cost of $10 per sticker. Bar code stickers must be applied to the car by a Ranger or by Adminis-

trative personnel. Stickers are avail-able for purchase and application Tuesday thru Saturday from 9:00

AM to 12:00 Noon at the Adminis-trative Office. Kindly note that the manufacturer does not recommend application of these stickers at tem-peratures below 35 degrees. Also ice scrapers can seriously damage the sticker so use caution. Please remember that the sticker needs to be visible to the code reader. If the

window is partially down or the sticker is covered by snow, the gate will not function. If you have ques-tions regarding this program, please

feel free to contact Association Manager Wendi Freeman at [email protected] or 570,

646-9191 ext. 107.
