install a system quickly and cost effectively.
The ChallengeThe McKenney’s team needed to install the HVAC system in the new location without disrupting ongoing patient services occurring next door. They had to work around a signifi-cant amount of existing below-floor plumbing
in occupied spaces. In addition, a large stainless steel exhaust duct system had to be routed through multiple floors to the roof where the fan would be installed.
The SoluTionInternal collaboration between the McKenney’s Engineering, Automation & Control Solutions and Healthcare teams eliminated the need for multiple contact points and created a seam-less deliverable. By coordinating with the
architect and general contractor, optimal rout-ing and installation methods minimized dis-ruption of the patient care areas. McKenney’s previous knowledge of the facility, design/build capabilities and on-staff medical gas certified technicians ensured a smooth, successful relocation.
The ReSulTSThe HVAC system was installed without disrupt-ing medical services, on time and under budget.
