Program Notes A Yuletide Festival is intended to be a joyous fanfare and celebration of the Christmas season. The songs We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Good King Wenceslas, and Deck the Halls are combined in various forms to create an exciting medley of familiar tunes. Rehearsal Suggestions Students should be made aware of the songs that are being used and when they occur. Students should be able to sing the melodies and possibly lyrics of the songs. The beginning section (We Wish You a Merry Christmas) should be dramatic, bold, and exaggerated. The second section (Good King Wenceslas) should be played lightly, with a slightly detached but melodic style. Deck the Halls should be fun, whimsical, and energetic. About the Composer Randall Standridge was born in Little Rock, Arkansas.
