IT’S NOT EASY TO BE A MANAGER IN THIS ENVIRONMENT

WE HAVE TO DISTURB LONGTIME WORK HABITS AND SCHEDULES

THAT HAVE TURNED INTO INFLEXIBLE AND UNCHANGING EXPECTATIONS.

Can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

We already have too much to do.

I’m not a morning person.

I don’t work nights.

Kids scare me!New technology scares me.

Seniors scare me!

I’m not allowed to do that kind of work.

I don’t do story time.

I don’t work with unstable people.

I’m a cataloger.

I’m a librarian.

Outreach? No, NOT OUTREACH!

I hate Tech Services.

Teens scare me!

I’m not a people person

I can’t drive the freeway at night.

We tried this before; it didn’t

work.

That’s not good for my allergies.

Staff over there don’t like me.

I hate cataloging.

I don’t know how to do that kind of work.

I don’t work weekends.

We never did that before.

I didn’t learn that in library school.

I have an injury.

Shelving makes my back hurt.

The Friends of the Library won’t like this…
