Tuesday – ScienceL.O. To explore pushes and pulls.
Forces are pushes and pulls. These pushes and pulls usually change the motion of an object. They can make an object start to move, go faster, stop moving or go slower.
Challenge 1:
Go around your house and find 10 examples of pushes and pulls. Draw these and label the direction of the force and whether it is a push or a pull.

For today’s PE lesson, we are going to be looking at different yoga poses. For each yoga pose, you need to read the information on the slide and then have a go at the pose.
Watch out! The poses get more difficult as you move through the presentation!
Success Criteria:
Meet It: I can copy a range of yoga poses from the models I have seen.
Beat It: I can carefully follow a range of written instructions in order to complete a range of yoga poses.
Smash It: I can identify ways in which the poses are challenging/easy and discuss their suitability for a range of different purposes.
Wednesday – PE
Tadasana
Mountain Pose
Benefits
Improves posture, strengthens core
muscles and legs.
Stand tall with your weight balanced
evenly on your feet.
Firm your thigh muscles and pull in your
tummy.
Press your shoulders back and hang your
arms beside your torso.
Breath deeply and hold as long as needed
(at least two breaths).

Chair Pose
Benefits
Strengthens legs, stretches shoulders and
chest.
Start in mountain pose. (Standing with
your feet shoulder width apart and arms
by your side).
Exhale, and bend your knees as if you
were sitting in a chair.
Reach your arms towards the ceiling with
your palms facing each other.
Hold this pose and breathe.

Benefits
Stretches legs and back, relieves stress
and calms the mind.
Bend at the hips.
Let arms hang low then clasp fingers
together.
Swing arms from side to side like a trunk.
Swing your whole body from side to side
to walk like an elephant.

Rainbow Pose
Benefits
Stretches arms, abdominals, spine and
chest; calms the mind.
Start on your knees. Raise both hands
over your head.
Drop one hand by your side, exhale and
arch your arm over your body.
Hold this position.
As you bring your dropped arm back over
your head, straighten your body.
Repeat on the other side.

Tree Pose
BenefitsImproves balance, strengthens thighs, calves and ankles,
stretches legs and chest, develops concentration.
Begin in mountain pose. (Feet shoulder-width apart, hands
at your sides.)
Lift your right foot, turning your knee out; place your foot on
your leg wherever feels comfortable.
Press your hands together.
Raise your arms over your head and look up to your hands
if possible.
Return hands to your chest and lower your right leg.
Repeat with left leg.

Begin by lying on your tummy.
While exhaling, lift your head and upper

Meet It: Design a 3 course menu (starter, main and dessert) using what you’ve learnt from the video as well as the lists of foods shown in the following slides.
Beat It: Complete the ‘Meet It’ menu but add more detail to show how the ingredients might be prepared.For example, Boiled jellyfish (served in honey and sprinkled with poppy seeds).
Smash It: Complete the ‘Beat It’ menu and then answer the questions on the last slide.
Feel free to lay out your menu in whichever way you choose!
