Life in Year 3Your child needs:-• hat and water bottle• book bag• a pencil case (sensible size)• glue stick• HB pencil• coloured pencils• eraser• ruler (30cm clear plastic)• whiteboard marker• highlighter pen• 4B/2B pencils for drawing• Pencil sharpener• 1 GB memory stick• recorder/music folder

Inquiry Units in Year 3

Interconnected systems are needed to get food to people.

The properties of air allow us to use it in many different ways.

Library and Home Learning• Library – children will have the opportunity during the week to change their library books during break times. Each class will also have a weekly session in the library.

• Home Learning – will be given out once a fortnight. On a Friday it will be glued into home learning books and a copy placed on the Learning Gateway. There will be set tasks which must be completed as well as a selection of optional activities.

•Home learning will be returned to school after two weekends on the Monday. This will allow for the learning to be shared and viewed in class.

• Be differentiated;

• Contain elements of choice and tasks that must be completed;

• Be expected to be completed over a period of time that includes a number of school days and at least one weekend;

• As much as possible be linked to learning being undertaken at school and at home;

• Include Chinese language and sometimes other specialist subjects.
