Using Write to Learn Strategies

• Use often—before, during and after instruction.

• Carefully and purposely plan writing prompts.• Carefully monitor students' use of the

strategies; provide scaffolding and support.• Write to Learn work is not usually formally

graded; use as a formative assessment.
