Working in Mahara

Step one is to login in to Moodle, on the bottom left you will see a link to KiHS Mahara under (Network Servers)

Click on the Mahara link which will take you to Mahara. Your first visit will ask you to create a password.

This is the Mahara Home Page

Once in you can look around and start customizing your profile.

Your first steps would be to import pages or Collections that you can then edit to customize for yourself.

At the top of the page you will see Dashboard, Content, Portfolio and Groups

Select the Portfolio Tab and then Choose Collections

Once in the Collections area, you are going to select “Copy a Collection”

Which will bring you to the next page

You are going to look for a set of pages and a collection called My Pathway Plan. You will see two options next to them.

Copy Collection and Copy Page. You need to select Copy Selection

The next step would be to name your own Collection, such as {YOUR NAME}’s Pathway Plan

Once that is complete, select > Next: Edit Collection Pages

Select a section you would like to start at, but would probably be best to start at the basics, Choose “Who I am”

Who I am has 6 different sub sections. Click on the Cog Symbol to edit each section to personalize it to you.

Once you’ve changed it you can always go back and edit by clicking on the Cog Symbol
