Day 1 Chiclayo – Pomac Forest- Olmos

Pick up from airport to transfer to Pomac
Forest Historical Sanctuary. Suggested
Flight LA 2272, 06:20/07: 50.

In Pómac Forest Historical Sanctuary we
will find several Tumbesina regional
endemic species like Peruvian Plantcutter
and Rufous Flycatcher, White-tailed Jay,
Black-faced Ibis (rare), Collared Antshrike,
Short-tailed Woodstar, Amazilia
Hummingbird, Peruvian Sheertail,
Scarlet-backed and Golden-olive
Woodpeckers, Necklaced Spinetail, Oasis
Hummingbird, Tumbesian Tyrannulet,
Snowy-throated Kingbird (seasonal),
Grey-and-White Tyrannulet, Plumbeous-
backed Thrush and White-edged Oriole,
Tumbes Swallow, Tumbes Pitajo.

Departs to Olmos. En route we will eat a
Box lunch.

Arrive Olmos, then we will move to Limon
village, then we will walk to get Quebrada
Frejolillo, which is an exceptional place to
observe White-winged Guan in the wild, as
well as, Scrub Nightjar, Pale-browed
Tinamou, West-Peruvian Screech-Owl,
Pacific Elaenia, Guayaquil Woodpecker,
Elegant Crescentchest and many more.

Arrival at basic accommodation in
Olmos.
Dinner and overnight in accommodation.

Day 2 Abra Porculla - Jaen
After breakfast we will continue our
journey to reach Abra Porculla. Our goal
here is to observe Chapman's Antshrike,
Bay-crowned Brush-Finch, Elegant
Crescentchest, Rufous-necked and
Henna-hooded Foliage-gleaners, Black-
cowled Saltator, Porculla Hermit and the
rare Piura Chat-Tyrant. On the route we will
enjoy a box lunch and then we will look for
Marañon Crescentchest, Marañon Slaty
Antshrike, Chinchipe Spinetai l ,
Ecuadorian and Blue Ground-Dove,
Common Thornbird and others.

Arrival at Jaén
Dinner and overnight at El Bosque Hotel .

Day 3 Huembro - Abra Patricia
After breakfast we will go to Huembo
reserve. On the way we can observe Little
Inca-Finch, Marañon Spinetail and Little
Woodstar.
Huembo reserve is located in Utcubamba
valley and features an interpretive center
which is managed by the local community
and managed by ECOAN also is
recognized by the Alliance for Zero
Extinction as a conservation priority due to
the presence of Marvellous Spatuletail
(mirabilis Loddigesia), here we have the
opportunity to see this beautiful bird,
which is probably the most spectacular of
all hummingbirds.

We also will see many other birds as
Emerald-bellied Puffleg, Little Woodstar,
Long-tailed Sylph, Purple-collared
Woodstar and maybe yellow-tailed
monkey.
After box lunch we will go to Private
Conservation Abra Patricia area, located
in the Amazon region, which protects
mountain forests and cloud forests, being
home to many endemic and threatened
birds in danger of extinction, as Long-
whiskered Owlet (Xenoglaux loweryi). To
observe this bird we will walk by night one
kilometer in step terrain.
Dinner and lunch in Abra Patricia in Owlet
Lodge.

Day 4Abra Patricia
We will spend the full day exploring this
magnificent area, we can see Rusty-tinged
and Rusty-breasted Antpittas and
Rufous-vented Tapaculo. Buscaremos
también Yellow-scarfed Tanager, Lulu's
Tody-Tyrant, Bar-winged Wood-Wren,
Royal Sunangel, and Cinnamon-breasted
Tody-Tyrant, White-capped Tanagers, the
Cock of the Rock. Umbrellabird, Red-
ruffed Fruitcrow, Ecuadorian Piedtail and
Napo Sabrewing. Black-mandibled
Toucan, Equatorial Graytail, Gray-mantled
Wren, Ecuadorian Tyrannulet, Foothill and
Ash-breasted Antwrens, the endemic

generally dry and warm. Between June
and August can be very cold and
slightly damp. In the Andes the climate
is dry and slightly cold. In the area of
Abra Patricia conditions are humid
and warm during the day and a little
chilly at night.
Time zone: Peru is 5 hours behind
Greenwich Mean Time. It has the same
time zone as the Eastern Time Zone of
the United States, but no time setting
between summer and winter.
Immunizations: recommends a yellow
fever vaccine 10 days before your trip.
