GET ACQUAINTED COFFEE Jo Ann Esposito 703-437-3996
This will be our last coffee of the 2013-2014 season. I would like to thank all the hosts during my 2-year tenure for not only offering your home and wonderful goodies but making my job so easy. I hope others will consider and volunteer to host a coffee next season. I’m sure Georgene Kaufman would appreciate hearing from you sooner rather than later. Remember, if your home is on the smaller size you may limit the number of guests you can accommodate. Have a wonderful summer, safe travels, and I’ll look forward to seeing you in September.
DATE: Wednesday, June 11 TIME: 10:00 AM HOSTESS: Carole Smithline ADDRESS: 1781 Chain Bridge Road, #402 McLean, VA 22102 RSVP either by calling Carole at 703-356-4538 or email Carole@smithline.net For planning purposes please let her know if you would like to bring something to share. Also, there is limited parking, so it would be best if you could carpool.
Wasn't the Spring Luncheon beautiful? What a special day out! Thank you to the Spring Luncheon committee -- Kitty Shea, Janice Shea, Sandra MacDougal, and Janet Findley-- for designing the gorgeous centerpieces! The following positions were filled by Presidential appointment as the Nominating Committee was unable to fill the positions. VP of Membership - Margaret Nichols
Newsletter Editor - Pearl DiPasquale Public Relations - Patricia Cantelmi
The BBQ is June 7 at my house. I hope you all will be there for a comfortable afternoon enjoying good food, fun conversation, and a glass of wine or two! Have a wonderful summer with family and friends. I will look forward to seeing you at the September
General Meeting!
Best, Susan

Many thanks to those of you who helped as greeters this year and to all of you who helped me sort
members’ name badges and put them back in their container after each general meeting. Thank you,

ROBERTA LIVINGSTON REMEMBERED
We say goodbye to our dear friend and sister,
Roberta Livingston. Roberta passed away this past
April after enduring several illnesses. Roberta was a
member of the WCGR club for more than 15 years.
She served on the board in a few positions and
participated in several activities such as Destination
Dinner, Casual Dining, and Daytime Needlecraft.
Roberta had many passions throughout the years
including crocheting, making occasion bears, floral,
and other decorations and centerpieces, edible
arrangements, cooking, decorating clothes, making
party favors, doing calligraphy, writing, and public
speaking. Her favorite hobby was knitting.
Not only did Roberta love learning, she was an
accomplished teacher as well – variously sharing her
knowledge of marketing, business ethics, knitting,
crocheting, starting your own business, computer
and internet basics, and more.
Roberta was a successful and sometimes
simultaneous entrepreneur, running businesses
including cosmetics, jewelry, catering, product
demos, marketing, printing, writing, and business
networking groups.
When Roberta’s daughter Amy asked her how she
wanted to be remembered, Roberta said that “she
always wanted to help other people.” Not content
just to be a member in any club, activity, or
organization, she was an active participant and
leader in business settings such as the Long Island
Association and Loudoun Chamber, charitable
organizations such as those combating blindness
and other diseases, and in social endeavors such as
various singles groups. She led a social group, the Woodstock Gang, and relished supporting women
entrepreneurs throughout the world via Kiva.Org.
Many of us were fortunate to have shared a part of Roberta’s life. We will miss the smile that was
always on her face!
