is the proud home of Buster the Bronco, the school mascot.

Buster became the official mascot in 1981 after competing with other mascots: Goldie, Busky,

Rocco, and Wildfire.

In 1991, an art student, Paul Sizer, created a graphic representation of WMU’s mascot that Buster’s costume is now modeled after.
