• CDMA– MultiTech MTCBA-C

• Satellite– Iridium

Components2c. Telemetry Board

• Custom Processor– Energy Saving: puts itself to sleep, turns off

Modem Configuration

• SpecWare 9 Pro / WatchDog Manager

Modem ConfigurationWhat needs to be set?

• Your carrier may require you to enter a User Name and Password (uncommon)

• Except for AT&T in the USA, Access Point Name must be set.– Provided by your carrier

• If you are using your own Web site, IP/URL and the Port must be set.– Your server must have a port listener processing any data

received on that port.– Your port listener must reformat the data as necessary,

and load a database used by your Web site

Station Configuration

• SpecWare 9 Pro WatchDog Properties

Station Configuration• Transmit Interval

– May differ from Log Interval

– Set both Time and Format

– Cannot be Queried

Station Configuration

• Logging vs Transmission Intervals– Logging Interval sets the interval for data to be

stored on the station.• Not sent to the Web• Backup, the “Real Thing”, or Ignored

– Transmission Interval sets the interval for Current Conditions to be sent to the Web

• Viewable on Web, downloadable to SpecWare 9 Pro• One record sent per interval• If Transmission Interval = 30 minutes and Log

Interval = 15 minutes, only 2 records will be recorded each hour on the Web

Station Configuration

• Data charges will be determined by Transmission Interval and Format– 15 minute intervals = 96 records per day– 60 minute intervals = 24 records per day

• Transmission Format Sizes– “1 Text” = 108 bytes– “G Binary M” or “H Binary E” = 40 bytes– “I Short Bin M” or “J Short Bin M” = 28 bytes

• Ports A-E not transmitted• Recommended for Iridium Satellite only
