WHY WEAR A MASK?
WHEN WILL STUDENTS WEAR MASKS?*
HOW TO WEAR A MASK?
When a cloth face covering is worn, the transmission rate of an airborne virus is greatly reduced. The CDC recommends all children over the age of two wear a face mask in public.
Students are required to wear a clean mask each day. Masks are mandatory whenever students are indoors and when they are arriving at or leaving school. Students will be provided with a pouch for storing their masks when they are outside for recess or physical education, and properly distanced.
• Students are required to wear a mask/cloth face covering that meets the CDC guidelines and is tasteful and appropriate for a Fairmont environment.
• No bandanas or cloth face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind may be used.
• The CDC cautions against the use of neck gaiters as their effectiveness is not known at this time.
• Students may only remove face-covering while actively eating or drinking or participating in PE/recess outside.
Watch this short video to learn
the safest way to wear a mask.
MASKS SHOULD BE:
• Comfortable
• Well-fitted around the nose and ears
