New Signage at the Bacala CenterLifeSpan Resources is thrilled tohave new signage placed on theBacala Center, located at 69 E.Wardell St. to identifyLifeSpan's offices and programshoused within the facility. Thesign was approved by theScottsburg Historical Society tobe an appropriate addition to the historic hospitalbuilding. LifeSpan directs a senior meal programMonday - Friday at the center, as well as elderlytransportation services, health programs, carecoordination and an Aging and Disability ResourceCenter. New Site Manager Hired for Bacala CenterLifeSpan Resources, the Area Agency on Aging forScott County, is pleased to announce the hiring of

Terry Jackson as the new site manager/seniorcenter driver for the Bacala Center (69 E. WardellStreet). Terry has a wealth of experience working

in programs for the elderly. Terry will becoordinating the senior nutrition meal site at the

center as well as offering transportation to and

getting to the center. Stop in and say hi!

Active Living Program Offered at Bacala CenterLifeSpan will be offering a new evidence-basedhealth and wellness program, Active Living EveryDay, at the Bacala Center, beginning in July.Activity Living Every Day is a 12-week programfocusing on helping older adults improve fitness,healthy eating, body image and combat obesity.There is a suggested donation of $10 for theentire session. Please register with Terry Jacksonat the Bacala Center, 69 E. Wardell Street!

Golden Hoosier Volunteer AwardPatricia Amos of Scottsburg has been

selected as LifeSpan's 2017 GoldHoosier Volunteer of the Year. Pat

coordinates activities at the BacalaCenter meal site overseeing meal

preparation and daily service,completing all required state

paperwork and donation collections.Pat also is a volunteer at the Church

of Christ where she is a Project Coordinator whoorganizes/coordinates community & church

dinners, cleaning crews and volunteers who visithospitals & nursing homes.Pat is an unassuming,

hard-working and tireless champion of theelderly, disabled and less fortunate and we are

proud to have her represent LifeSpan!

Thank you to Scott County United Way!Frankie Able and Lucy Koesters of LifeSpan,attended the Scott County United Way AwardsDinner on April 20th. LifeSpanwas awarded a total of $4,500to support LifeSpans' ADRC andtransportation programs inScott County. LifeSpan was alsorecognized as a United Waycampaign Partner for 2016.
