Sometimes the most memorable stories, those that are carried by winds all over the world, have found notoriety thanks to their unusual circumstances. Certainly storytelling is an age old practice that has transcended time and generation.

Perhaps you have a story born from comical misfortune or a tale of woe that materialised following an

embarrassing faux pas. Either way, you’ll fi nd an excellent forum for divulging your catastrophic moments at the upcoming Natural Born Storytellers evening at XCHC (Wilson Road) on Friday 25 November.

The concept found its feet once upon a time in the hip locale of Camden Town, London. The original pioneers have since collaborated with The Story Collective to hand the microphone to Christchurch. The brief for the evening comes from the team themselves: “We are looking for your stories about times when things didn’t go accordingly to plan. Life throws curve balls sometimes and we have to go with the fl ow. The results can be challenging and even catastrophic – but they can always be unexpectedly wonderful”.
