Chart

• Patient Search Modifications

– Searching by patient name will now search using “begins with” logic

– Search using numbers will search the patient ID field initially. If an exact patient ID is found, that patient is returned. If no exact patient ID is found, then it will search all number fields for possible matches.

• Optimization

– We’ve optimized the chart code in an effort to show improvement in speed and efficiency.

• Odontogram

– A new filter has been added to determine if the tooth info filters should apply to the Grid, Odontogram or Both.

• Medications Icon

– ATTN SuccessEHS customers: Selecting the medications icon in MediaDent will now launch the Medications tab within the patient’s chart as opposed to the standalone Medications dialog.

MediaDent Secure e-mail

• We have re-written all e-mail functions to ensure e-mailing patient data is secure and HIPAA compliant.

• The e-mail icon has been moved to the navigation bar.

• The e-mail icon will be accessible as long as a patient is selected.

MediaDent Secure e-mail

• The compose e-mail dialog has been re-written:

• A ribbon has been added to the dialog to allow users to compose a formatted e-mail body including using Macros.

Adding Macros to e-mail

• Use the Macro icon to select a previously built Macro.

• Selecting a macro will add the macro content to the body of the e-mail.

Attach Progress Notes

• Select the Reporting Tab to attach progress notes to the e-mail

• Select the appropriate progress note from the list

• The attachment can be seen in the attachments area of the e-mail

Edit and View tabs

• The standard Edit and View tabs are also available within the dialog

• Use the Edit tab to change font, format data, spell check and more.

Attach Images

• Attach Images dialog has been re-written

• Select the image library and then move images from left to right by using the arrows or dragging and dropping.

• Select “Attach Images” when all images have been selected

MediaDent Secure e-mail

• If you try to switch patients without saving the e-mail, the user will get a prompt.

Receiving e-mails

• Initially anyone that receives an e-mail from a MediaDent user will have to register to view the email.

• The recipient can select the hyperlink to create a new account.

Creating an account within MediaDent secure e-mail

• The recipient can enter the minimum information

• Once the account is created, the user can then view any secure e-mails sent to them.

Viewing e-mails

• The screen to view e-mails looks much like other e-mail viewers

• The e-mail is on the left, selecting it will allow the user to view the e-mail on the right

E-mails

• Users can use the Download button to download the e-mail to their local computer for future reference or select Print.

• E-mails are purged (deleted) automatically every 90 days and cannot be recovered. Any e-mail that needs to be saved for longer than that time frame would need to be downloaded or printed.

E-mails

• After a recipient has registered with MediaDent secure e-mail, there is no need to register again in the future.

• Going forward, the user can simply login using previously created credentials to view e-mails.

• The existing prompt encryption prompt has been removed as a result of the MediaDent secure e-mail project.

Practice Configuration

• This screen has been removed from System Files and is now located within System Administration

• New options to note:

– Default launch screen

• Determine whether you want all users in the practice to launch Tasks (current screen) or Appointments when they initially load MediaDent

• Automatically lock Progress Notes based on Days or Hours

• Spell check configuration

– Dictionary can be configured to Database or User

– Database means all users can add words to a central dictionary that is shared. User means each user has their own dictionary.

Practice Configuration

• Auto save Progress Notes Interval– Allows the user to determine how often they want the

system to do an “auto save” within progress notes

• Default Mail Client Configuration– Premise/Turnkey clients ONLY

– Caution: If you elect to switch from using our Secure e-mail configuration to use your own e-mail configuration (using your own server), you will receive an alert.

– If your e-mail server is not secure, it is not advised to use your local e-mail client. Switching this option from the default (to use MediaDent secure e-mail) will be audited and logged in the audit trail.

Practice Configuration

• Automatically create patient tasks for overdue lab work

• The overdue date allows the user to determine when to begin creating tasks in the event there are older lab work items that have not been worked.
