What we did in class today: Thursday Feb. 9th and Fri. Feb. 10th, 2012

•We reviewed how to complete a Lewis Dot Structure.

•Reviewed the different sections of the periodic table and completed the study guide. Unit B Ch. 1.3 pages 26-32.

•If time permits we will fit in a lab on Friday.

PACE Survey-show of hands

1. What tool did you use to measure the data in your experiment?

2. Would you have done a different experiment if you had access to probes that measure things like force, acceleration, temperature, pressure, motion and pH?

3. Have you ever used probes for measuring data in other classes?

4. Would probe tools and software make data collection more reliable/accurate than what you measured this year?

Change 5.3 to Unit B 1.3& highlight vocab.

Find this family on the Periodic Table.

Periodic TableAssessment

Be really careful with all of the pieces. You’ll need to stack them in easy to count pilesand show me them before your table is dismissed.

You may be asked to show me either the Bohr model or the. Lewis Dot Structure or both.

Remember: The Bohr model shows all of the electrons. You’ll need to look at the periodnumber for the number of energy levels and the column number for the valence electrons.
