What? Before the first infusion?

You actually describe it, but I’ll let you off on that

one

Otherwise, a good intro.

Essay 1.

Woah, where’s this come from? this essay is supposed to be

about ANV

All OK, but off topic really.

So? Why? Relate this to learning

theory

Are you sure? Is 50 THAT old?

Are these the only associations that could form or are

they just examples?

Last sentence is correct, well done.

Conditioned responses have

rules?

This is your big chance to show off with your

knowledge of the experiments. Tell

me what you know...

Oops

Oops

Is this really why these experiment

were done?

OK, but I think (a) more depth is

needed here and (b) it could be

better described in a section devoted to treatment.

Unusual? Do you mean novel or weird? If you

mean novel why is this important.

Go on....you’re nearly there...

This is all good stuff. Good detailed description of

counter evidence.

So, now you are going BACK to evidence for a

conditioning account. Stick with a theme.

Again, this is good stuff, (although is there a counter to the

argument about distraction...)

Oops

A good essay, but

(1) Went off track with anorexia at the start.(2) More studies could be discussed, where studies

are described more details needed(3) Relate the effects to learning theory more(4) A bit of evidence ping-pong. Better structure

needed

Thus 2:1

Much better definition of ANV

Nice straightforward description of the question and a good, brief

overview of how you are going to tackle it.

Steady on!

Essay 2.

Oops

This is an excellent description of the conditioning analysis, and even

emphasises that there may be more than one associative structure

involved!

Good logical starting point, Beginning with the question of why would anyone doubt that

it’s a CR?

Oops

OK, but you’ve missed the crucial condition, where an

audio-visual CS is paired with illness. Grrrrr, its not going to

be A++

OK, I’m feeling better again now, you have restored my faith in your

intelligence... Really good description of H&S, then a good human version of the same idea straight after to make

the point. Still looking like a first class answer now...

Define this please

oops

Good description of the results, and

all the time relating it to learning

theory, which is what is demanded

of the question. Well done.

Good details about these studies! I actually believe you may have read them. You are also relating them to learning theory still. This is getting

better and better.

You are about to change direction in the essay. But

that’s OK, because you’ve

provided me with a sign post. You

are thinking ahead and helping me

understand the structure of your argument. I now

think you are writing a well thought out

answer, and not simply a mind

dump.

Evidence of reading outside of the lecture slides!!!!!!

Excellent, you are introducing a counterpoint here, and then evaluating

it with relevant data.

Good, a potential treatment is described, and related to a

phenomenon (LI) in learning theory

An excellent essay, easy to read, detailed and analytical at the right points. Evidence of wider reading

a couple of shortcomings

(1) A couple of minor definition errors(2) Could have talked about the scapegoat effect

Thus 1st
