Application Timeline and Decisions

• Applications are accepted between weeks 1 - 7 ONLY of the spring term – for fall admission.

• Reviewed by committee during weeks 8 – 9

• Decisions are emailed to students during week 10

• Students are notified on either decision (accepted or denied) before registration begins for the fall term

• Accepted intercollege transfer students will be able to register for KN courses without being on a waiting list

• Denied students may opt to put their name on a waiting list

How to Apply

• Follow this link:https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/8823614

• Follow the prompts on your screen

• Remember the application will not be open until the beginning of the spring term.

WAITLIST

If you are denied – or are not yet eligible to apply

• Add your name to the KN Waitlist located on the Kinesiology home page at http://www.ahs.uic.edu/kn/

• Waitlist opens the 1st day of registration each term

• Eligibility – requires prerequisites and minimum GPA

– If seats are available, permission to register will NOT be granted until AFTER all current KN students, minors, and newly admitted freshmen and transfer students have registered

• Registration in a KN course, as a non-KN student, does not guarantee future admission to the department

Another Option – Minor in Kinesiology

• Follows the same timeline and application steps as the Intercollege Transfer Requests.• Click “Forms” then “Request to Minor in Kinesiology”

• Meet course prerequisite requirements and minimum GPA of 2.5 (usually accepted)
