WELCOME to the August/September Newsletter

Come and join us

DSEN are planning an exciting event to celebrate 10 years of Dundee Social Enterprise Network and to raise

awareness of all the fantastic, diverse work that social enterprises in Dundee do as well as to help people under-

stand what a social enterprise is. We are hoping to hire a City Centre venue on a Saturday in November when

the city will be busy with people starting to think about Christmas. DSEN will be covering the cost of the venue

hire on behalf of its members. Members will be able to have a table or space to sell products / services or re-

cruit volunteers or generally raise awareness of what your Organisation does. We will also be looking for enter-

tainment, children’s activities and adults activities to engage people with on the day.

Please get in touch with Raymond via email raymond@dundeesen.org if you would be interested in being in-volved in this event.

DSEN UPDATE

The team here at Dundee SEN has been temporarily expanded as we host 2 mem-bers of staff on behalf of the Funeral Poverty Action Group. Margaret Clark and Diane Cameron are funded via the Social Innovation Fund with a remit to explore the challenges of Funeral Poverty and to investigate whether the social enterprise model could provide a solution here in Dundee.

They’re keen to connect locally with groups who’d be willing to engage in an awareness raising workshop on the cost and types of funeral and also with individ-uals who’ve experienced financial challenges in relation to the funeral of loved ones. To find out more, please get in touch – Margaret@dundeesen.org on 01382 504848 or Diane@dundeesen.org on 07889 720171.
