• Rote Counting – starting with numbers to 10 and then beyond!• Recognising numbers and matching them to the correct
amount. Have a go at writing them too!• Comparing numbers – looking at one more and one less,
practical addition and subtraction.• Using maths in a real life context: money, time, environment.• Recognising and describing shapes• Using vocabulary of measurements:
heavy/lightsmall/big long/shortfull/half full/empty.
LiteracyHow can I help?
• Reading for pleasure: bedtime reading, access to stories and other reading materials, audio books.
• Nursery Rhymes• Teaching of pure sounds a, b, c not ABC.• Lots of segmenting of words –
“let’s put on your h – a – t”• Name recognition and writing.• Modelling correct letter formation and pencil grip.• Comprehension – make sure you are questioning
your children on what they have read. Talk about the characters, setting, main events etc.

General Information
You will order school dinners on the school APP (this information to follow.)
Reading bags, pump bags and water bottles on
your child’s first day – you only need to bring a coat on your first day.
If your child is unwell, has an appointment or is going to be off school – you must let the school office know via telephone from 8am onwards.
!We are a NUT FREE school!
Your child will receive a reading book AFTER our Reading Workshop (Key Dates on next slide!)
In Reception, we have school dinners only.
Morning Snack – toast - £3 every termAfternoon Snack – fruit – free!
• Royal blue cardigans and jumpers
• White polo t-shirts
• Grey trousers, skirts or pinafores
• Velcro school shoes only please
• PE Kit: blue logo t-shirt, navy shorts and black pumps.
• All items of clothing must be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

SEESAW! • As a school, we use SEESAW as an app for communication and home
learning.
• We work as a team using the app and ask that you upload evidence onto
your child’s learning journal with us.
• You have all received an email to invite you to download the app and log
onto your child’s personal account.
• We have gone paperless! So make sure you keep an eye our for key
events, announcements and messages on here, as we no longer send
letters.
Next Steps:
• Familiarise yourself with the school website – don’t forget to add us on Facebook!
• Download and access SEESAW App.
• Start to buy uniform and PE kit (Slaters, AC Sports)
• Keep your eyes peeled for important dates: school start date and home visit (week beginning 5th-July)
