About Us

Establishment:- In1836 this college was established and known as "ROBERTSON COLLEGE". In 1947 its name was changed into "MAHAKOSHAL COLLEGE".

• Development:- In 1962 the college was bifurcated and the Arts college was named "GOVT. MAHAKOSHAL ARTS " COLLEGE" In 1983 Commerce stream was also started and the name was again changed to -

• "GOVT. MAHAKOSHAL ARTS & COMMERCE COLLEGE".• Inception of Autonomy:- The college is affiliated to Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya under University Grants Commission.

It was granted Autonomous status in 1992. According to 1998 guidelines autonomous scheme is effective here.• After the visit of the Peer Team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Banglore,the college was awarded B++

We have a large library with approx. 8000 books covering different encyclopedias , recent text books & other magazines

Except books , also provided more than six maggines and three news paper weekly and over ten news paper daily ,for current updates.

We have a computer lab with Sixty advanced computers with internet connection and availability of LAN.
