Health 9 - Class Rules1. Always have your school handbook with you,

these school rules will be followed in this classroom. To use the restroom or to leave the classroom you will need your handbook.

2. No food or drinks. Water is okay in clear bottles but not allowed on desk with laptop.

3. Be respectfully and act appropriate for class.4. If you do not understand the information ask

the teacher for more help.

5. Handwriting must be legible on all assignments, or teacher will ask student to redo the assignment 6. If a fire alarm rings, leave all belongings at your desk, and line up according to school procedure. Everyone must listen and stand next to the teacher outside, attendance will be taken.7. Keep all papers for a graded notebook.

Class Procedures

• A procedure is the way that we do things. To have a successfully learning environment we will all follow the health class procedures.

Entering the Classroom• Make sure you have everything you need for

health class such as book, notebook, pens, and pencils.

• Quietly sit in your assigned seat and look at the Smart board to begin the DO Now exercise.

• If you need a pen or pencil, take one from the teachers box, write your name on the board.

The Bell Rings

• You are working on the Do Now exercise in your notebook as the teacher takes attendance.

• Sit quietly when finished and wait for the instruction of material to begin.

During Instruction

• Listen to the teacher with full attention.• No getting up to sharpen pencils, go to the

trash can or talking.• You will have time to take notes, so listen and

get involved in class discussion.• Ask questions related to content.

During the class

• Listen to all instructions.• If you do not understand, raise your hand.• If you are doing group work your voice should

be a whisper.

• Stop what you are doing.• Face the teacher and wait silently.• No talking and all attention should be on the

teacher.

After you are done with work

• Check your work• If the assignment is to be turned in, do so.• Stay quiet so other students can finish, so start

other homework or read a book.

Dismissal

• Clean your desk and floor area, take trash to the trash can.

• Wait for the teacher to dismiss you.• Stay in your seats and no lining up at the door.

Homework Procedures

• Homework is due the next class period unless otherwise stated. Late homework will not be graded. If you are absent on the day a homework assignment is due, yes you will allowed to turn that day’s homework in to the teacher.

• Write all homework assignments in you handbook.

Tardy

• You need to be in your seat when the bell rings, if you enter the classroom after the bell, you will be marked as tardy for the class.

• IF YOU HAVE A SIGNED PASS and enter after the class you will not be marked tardy.

When you are absent

• Following an absent, ask the teacher for missing work from the previous class period (s). Hand in other homework from being absent.

• If you miss a quiz and/or test, you will make it up during lunch period, schedule a day with the teacher.

Consequences to breaking class rules and/or procedures

• Warning• Conference with student• Detention during lunch• Parent contact• Referral to Administration

Grading Policy

• Test and quizzes = 50%• Homework = 20%• Projects= 20%• Class Participation = 10%

• Final Exam = 1/9 of grade

Closing

• Let’s have a great school year and the sky is the limit.
