Welcome Delegates, I am pleased to welcome all delegates and recreational trail supporters to Trailhead Canada. During the event there will be lively discussion on trail use, the trail economy and the challenges facing outdoor recreation in Canada.
As President of Canadian Trails Federation - Fédération Canadienne des Sentiers (CTF-CFS); and Chair of the National Trails Coalition - Coalition Nationale sur les Sentiers; I am keenly aware of the desire of people to meet to affect positive progressive change for Canada’s 340,000 plus kilometers of trails.
As Co-Chair of this event I welcome you to Ottawa for our meetings and I hope that you leave having made new friends and with renewed optimism that with our collaborative leadership, from 2018 and beyond, we will see better, safer and more inclusive trail options for all Canadians.
I also wish extend my sincere thanks to my event co-chairs; Wayne Terryberry and Louis Carpentier; the Trailhead Canada planning committee, and to the staff(s) that helped put the program and the event together.
Merci bien,
Patrick Connor

Evening SocialsLocated close to the venue are several great locations to explore. In the evenings feel free to check out the following.
Les Brasseurs du Temps
A local pub located right down the road, it features several pieces in its quaint beer museum exploring the local beer history. Grab a pint and relax in the evenings here.
Le Petit Chicago This new age pub features shows on mul-tiple evenings each week that range from local muscians and artists to stand up comedians. When it doesn’t have a show on the venue is good for a more peaceful drink and meeting location.
