Setting The Goal
Only 44% of parents say their Scout set a sales goal.
Scouts who set goals average $626 in sales. Scouts with no goal average $304 in sales.
Groups with a sales goal sell twice as much as those without goals
Take Order SaleThe Scouts go door to door with a Take Order form or use the form to
sell to family and close friends
1. Establish your dates. Typically starts immediately after your kick-off.
2. Set up a sales territory if needed
3. Create a “Blitz Day”
4. Have youth sell as a group activity.
5. Have parent(s) take an order form to work.
6. Two out of three people will buy when asked.7. Less than 20% of households have been contacted to purchase Scout
Popcorn to support local Scouting.
Conduct A Popcorn Kick-Off This is often the first Scout gathering of the new year, so
MAKE IT FUN! Have plenty of activities for the Scouts to do. Have a theme; Carnival, Circus,
Sporting Events, etc.
Have plenty of door prizes and snacks on hand…especially Scout Popcorn
Review the calendar and the goals with the parents.
“Scouting Can Be Free!” Highlight the year’s activities with the Scouts
Review the Leaders Guide for additional information

Review the Scout Safety TipsSAFETY TIPS: Your safety is more important than any fundraising goal!• NEVER enter anyone's home• NEVER sell after dark unless you are with an adult• NEVER carry large amounts of cash with you• NEVER give personal information • NEVER sell in front of stores or malls without permission. A responsible adult must be present• NEVER sell at stop lights or street corners• NEVER go to dimly lit areas or places where you are not clearly visible • ALWAYS walk on the sidewalk and driveway• ALWAYS sell with another Scout or with an adult you know• ALWAYS notify your parent or group leader of any strange activity immediately • ALWAYS walk away from any dangerous or uncomfortable situations• ALWAYS fundraise in areas you know• Make a list of friends, family, relatives, and neighbors to contact instead of selling door-to-door
