NewsFromTheSeniorLearningTeamForthefirsttwoweeksoftermRooms6,7,8,9,10and11havebeenconcentratingongetting to knoweach other (teachers and students) and familiarising themselveswithschool routines and expectations. As you can see from the photos there are manydifferentwaystoexpressthisartistically.Atthebeginningofeachyearmanystudentsstruggletoadapttotheroutinesofschoolafterthe'freedom'oftheschoolholidays.Theteachersareworkingveryhardtohelpthestudentsidentifywhathelpsthemtolearnsuccessfully,whattheirinterestsareandcreatingfuturefocusedgoals.Thank you to all parents who attended the Student-Parent-Goal SettingMeetings. StaffProfile–JoyceMariaSoosai,TeacherinRoom7MynameisJoyceMariaSoosai.IamoriginallyfromSingaporebutIhavestudied,livedandworkedinNewZealandfor20years.IammarriedtoSimonandhavetwoschoolagechildrenJoannawhois9andJameswhois6.Ienjoydoingoutdooractivitiesandartandcraft.Ispendmyweekendwithmychildrenandaminvolvedintheirsportsbeingasupporter.This year I am looking forward to meeting you all and working alongside your child. I have beenrelieving in Linwood North School and other neighbouring schools in 2016. I have been teaching inAranuiSchoollasttermtohelpwiththeclosingoftheschool.The childrenhave settledback into school thisweekandhaveenjoyeddoing art and craft activities.Theyhavereallyenjoyedworkingtogetheringroupsandsharingtheircreations.Iamlookingforwardtoenjoyablelearningmomentsfortherestoftheyear.

QualityLearningfromRoom4andMrsMooreIt’sbeenagreatstarttotheyearinRoom4.WewelcomedNiah,OscarandTiuwhocametoLinwoodNorthfromotherschools.WebeganthetermlearningaboutStatisticsforMathematics.Wehavebeencollectinginformation,creatinggraphsandthenfindingoutwhatthegraphstellus.Herearejustsomeofthegraphswemade.
