Sportsmen’s Organizations and community donors.
Wapiti Weekend is a two-day educational
camp presented by the Arizona Elk
Society and sponsored by Cabela’s
and Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife
Conservation for children and teens ages
8-16. Youth camp volunteers help provide
a fun, safe experience for participants as
they learn about and experience outdoor
skills related to hunting and wildlife
conservation.

ACTIVITY EXAMPLES
Archery*: Learn how to use a bow in a correct and safe manner.
22 Shoot*: Live fire a .22 rifle and learn gun safety.
Pellet Gun Shoot*: For the younger kids.
Shotgun Clay Target Shooting*: Learn the proper way to shoot sporting clays. (10 yrs and older)
Muzzle Loader*: Live fire a muzzle loader and watch the loading process. (12 years and older)
*All shooting events are taught and supervised by Certified Safety Instructors.
Hunter Ethics Simulator: Learn about situations that the young outdoor sportsmen will encounter while hunting in Arizona including real life situations where ethical decisions need to be made.
Game Calling: Receive an elk call and learn how to use various other game calls.
Wildlife Identification: Learn about the many types of wildlife in Arizona. They will also learn what to look for when trying to identify wildlife.
Tracking: Learn the importance of wildlife tracking and receive tracking tips.
Make-’n’-Take: Make and take home a model of a wild animal track.
Survival Bracelets: Make and Take home your very own survival bracelets.
Owl Pellet Dissection, Fishing, Fly Fishing, Gold Panning and more.
INFORMATION
Location: St. Joseph’s Youth Camp, Morman Lake, AZ
Fee: The fee for the weekend is $50 per participant. This covers all meals, activities and a t-shirt for campers. Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
All youth participants must be accompanied by an adult. Adults may purchase a meal ticket for $30.
CAMPING INFORMATION
Each youth participant must be accompanied by an adult. Camping area is available, large trailers will be limited on site, lots of areas for tents. There are a few cabins available for large groups up to ten. Campers will be able to set up camp on Friday, or Saturday morning. Check-in begins Saturday morning. All camping equipment must be provided by participants.

Register early because spots are very limited!
