Wake Up Squad, October 2009–February 2010

Aiming to involve new groups of young people in thesustainability movement we created “Wake Up Squad” –a self-financed mentorship program designed to train sixyoung informal leaders in sustainable advocacy. Forthree months we worked with these flawed diamonds,improving their understanding of sustainability issues, aswell as their communication skills. When participating atCOP15 and Jokkmokk Winter Conference, “the squad”practiced what they’d learnt by lobbying negotiators,working the media and collecting stories for ourworkshops from some of the best social entrepreneursout there.

Young Ideas for Europe, June–December 2009

Young Ideas for Europe is an effort made byGerman IFOK and the Robert Bosch Foundation inorder for young people to play a more active roleas European citizens. As project leaders of theSwedish chapter we led a project week at Spykenhigh school in Lund, leading to high-level debateevents with Margot Wallström (Social-DemocraticParty) and Lena Ek (Center Party), some of themost influential politicians in Europe at the time.

Challenge Europe, May–October 2009

Financed and run by our partner British Council,“Challenge Europe” is a program for youngleaders, designed to kick-start climate mitigationefforts across the union. As facilitators of theprocess in Sweden and Denmark, our role was tocreate the best possible circumstances for theparticipants of “Challenge Europe” to generatebrilliant ideas, dynamic working groups and clearcommunication.

Klimatting:ett, October 2009

By streamlining the political and entrepreneurial chapters of the event and deliveringtailor made workshops, we contributed to the high level of inspiration, collaboration andproduction throughout the ambitious three-days event.

“Klimatting:ett”, arranged by the city of Lund andLund’s Youth Council, was an internationalconference that brought together 300 youngpeople between 12 and 16 to produce newideas and perspectives on solutions to theclimate crisis.
