The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the leading international body for the assessment of climate change.

It was established by UNEP and WMO1988 to provide the world with a clear scientific view on the current state of knowledge in climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic impacts.

12

IPCC Report 2014 on impacts, vulnerablity and adapataion

Risk of climate-related impacts results from the interaction of climate-related hazards with the vulnerability and exposure of human and natural systems. Changes in both the climate system (left) and socioeconomic processes including adaptation and mitigation (right) are drivers of hazards, exposure, and vulnerability.

13

3. Influencing practice- Linking global policy to action• Regional and transboundary approach to adaptation• Integrate water security into national development• Community level demonstration projects
