THE SHARON MESSENGER :
PROCLAIMING , GROWING , SHARING
Pastor Lloyd Gooden llggooden@netzero.net
Office Hours: 9:00am— 1:00pm Monday-Thursday
From the Pastor’s Desk
Already we are near to Labor Day and the
unofficial end of summer. This means that
some of our young people have already
started school and most of us are getting back
to our regular routines. I hope most, if not all
of us were able to take some time off during
the summer months for fun, rest, and renewal.
As we look forward to the ministry
opportunities for the fall, I want to remind
you that September 8th will be Rally Day
when Sunday school will restart. On Rally
Day, the Sunday school staff will be
commissioned during morning worship and
students will receive a special blessing.
Thanks to all of you who are faithfully
serving in children's ministry and helping the
church to fulfill its commitment to love and
nurture children. May you truly understand
how pleasing your service is to Christ and the
church.
It is said that, “The family that prays together,
stays together.” This may not always be the
case, but if the family pray and worship
together that could help to bring those family
members closer to one another and to God. It
is with this in mind that the elders and I are
inviting you to a special service in celebration
of the family and friends on Sunday October
13th. This will be at the regular worship time
and the focus will be on family and friends.
The hope is that you will invite as many of
your family members and friends as possible
to this special service of celebration. There
will be a luncheon after worship in the
fellowship hall.
Our Confirmands: Bryley, Maxwell, Grady,
Adrian, and Adam continue their quest for
greater knowledge of Christ in their lives as
they prepare to confirm their faith later in the
fall. They have been working hard and
making progress. Please keep them in your
prayers as they continue this leg of their
Christian journey.
Sisters and Brothers, as we continue to serve
the Lord in this part of the vineyard, we
acknowledge that there is much work to be
done. Christ has called us and endowed each
of us with special gifts to be used in the
building up of His kingdom. Where do you
hear Him calling you to serve? What is He
calling you to do? Remember that we are the
hands and feet of Jesus in our world and He is
depending on all of us to be His faithful
ambassadors. So let us not hold back but seek
to know our Savior’s will for each of us.
Please remember to keep our sick and home
bound members in your prayers.
May God bless you all

Elders Meeting Summary
No August 2019 Elders Meeting
I am looking for several people to teach Sunday School. I
would like to have enough people to have three teams of two
people. Each team would teach 6 weeks at a time and we
would rotate the three teams. You will teach Grade 1st through
5th. Time will be 9:30-10:15am starting Sunday, September 8th.
Curriculum is provided. Please pray about it and see if this a
direction God wants you to go. You will gain so much by
learning more and spending time with the kids. They will touch
your heart. If you are interested or if you have any questions,
please contact me, Cindy Newton at 330-364-4070. Thank You.
